    Charlie Mulgrew to Hibs?

Not speculating or saying I have heard anything from "people in the know"... Just want to know if people have an opinion on this...

Personally, I would like to see Charlie Mulgrew at Easter Road, he's out of contract. However, not sure how competitive Hibs could be on the wages front if he has offers from down south. If he was to sign it would allow us to push Murray into Midfield or fill in at Centre Half...

    Thoughts?

Lethal free kick taker, but not sure if he's what we're looking for. If there's a fullback on the go, we need to be looking at the right side first.

All he can do is take a good free kick,he can't defend, can't pass, can't tackle, so yes we probably will sign for us lol

He is not a player I would really be excited about seeing at Hibs for the reasons highlighted by 18/03/07. If Ricky Foster was available on the otherhand then I would not mind seeing him at right back for Hibs as he is lightening fast.

No thanks. We need better than average players from now on to improve us. Aberdeen finished 9th this season and as far as I can make out Mulgrew wasn't even a stand out amongst their dross.

Id take him..I dont buy this theory he just scores free kicks, Ive seen him a few times now for Aberdeen and he has been good at what he does defensively.

Only gets press for free kicks. He's not a good defender.

He has played alongside Diamond at CB a few times and looked pretty good imo

Don't think he is any better than what we have. If he was good going forward then yes but I haven't seen that in his game when I have seen him.

i'd be happy with sir ian and callum booth competing for the left back slot over the course of next season. stevenson can also fill in if required.

mulgrew would bring something to the party and i could understand most spl managers being interested if he was available.

i'd rather the manager looked to use a portion of his wages budget for a specialist right back this summer.

Not seen anything of Mulgrew, bar a few games against us. I disagree about not needing a left back though, i think Murray has struggled recently, and i think he has lost a little bit of pace, and he was never the quickest. I think he might need to move position.

We need a good solid left back, Murray needs to go into midfield, Hanlon isn't a left back, and Stevenson should be punted!

just paper talk, but decent standard. Keogh from carlisle and Micheal Hart is out off contract. Keogh, can play RB and CH. has won a few awards this year aswell.

I know Hughes likes his FBs to get forward, but the first priority is defense. Our defending from crosses and set pieces this last season was little short of criminal - so as well as at least one good, solid CB I would like to see a couple of full backs who have the requisite defensive qualities. Anything else attacking-wise is a bonus, IMO.

think mulgrew is rubbish - gets on the telly plenty when a free kick comes up but i'd be concerned at his lack of mobility

I'd rather have Ricky Foster or Michael Hart.

Spot on. I know that Hughes wants football all through out the side but I would settle for a keeper and a back four that can defend, clear their lines and when needed just put the ball back where it came from. Happy to see all the football start from outside the 18 yard box.

    More crap from Football Rumours

    Hibernian News:

Garry O'Connor to sign for £200k plus John Rankin to Birmingham to shore up the engine room.

Hibs are also to move for upcoming Pollok star Chris Brophy. Who has netted 34 goals this season from the left side of midfield.

Sol Bamba will move to Fulham for £1.6M
Paul Hanlon will join Bundesliga new boys St. Pauli for £1M

Hibs will replace these two Central defensive rocks by bringing in :

Zander Diamond and Ritchie Foster (Aberdeen) £300k

David Van Zanten will also rejoin former club Hibs after impressing at Hamilton.

Anthony Stokes will join Celtic for £4.5M with Paul Caddis and Pat McCourt moving in the other direction.

The only one of those rumours that get me excited is the prospect of DVZ back at ER
