Does he see everything in slow motion or something? You hear about players being a second or a yard faster than other players...he's about an hour and 10 miles ahead of everyone else.

Just found this whilst looking through some of the vids. Our boys could learn a thing or two from watching it!

Just truly the best and no amount of hype from the English media would convince me that Rooney's in his league

It's embarrassing, like comparing a donkey to a stallion!

I had a friend at school who held onto the ball like young Messi. He did everyone's nut in by hogging the ball and never, ever pass. He was built like a rake and tall -doing a shoulder barge felt like being jabbed by a skeleton.
He used to sulk when his own team mates would tackle him just to get the ball off him -seriously.

Hardly a fair comparison though is it?

Rooney is an old fashioned style striker, strong, direct, single minded and improving all the time as a finisher. Easily in the top 2 or 3 strikers in Europe at the moment.

Messi is the definition of a 'free role'. Despite the fact he plays as part of a front 3 for Barca he doen't really hit the line like an old fashioned winger or play through the middle like a striker. He's all about tricks and skill but he also has an end product.

Of course Messi is better than Rooney but that doesn't mean Rooney isn't a special talent. It's a bit like having a go at Stephen hawking because he's not as good as physics as Einstein or Newton were.
