    Hibs Best 11?

Enough time has passed for people to make a judgement on what the strongest Hibs team would be, what would be your team?

Probably not in most peoples favor as McCann is no longer a regular and Hanlon would be playing out of position.

But I would like to see Wotherspoon and Bamba pushed forward into Midfield.

Our defence couldn't be much worse at the moment anyway.

It is no coincidence that Millers game is affected by Mcbride being injured.

And Hanlon should be in for Bamba for just now, Sol's been smoking something in Africa.

    Wotherspoon --- Hogg --- Hanlon --- Murray

    Zemmama --- Miller ---McBride ---Galbraith/Gow

    Stokes -- Benji

Simple 4-4-2 - Would drop Bamba as i feel he has been honking recently. Would also have dropped Riordan as despite the fact he has wrongly been playing out of position, he has not shown enough effort and fight for the jersey and deserves to be dropped.

No issue with the highlighted boys individually but they just cannot alll be in the same team together. Put Stokes in the mix and we only have 6 outfield players on the park who will think about tackling or tracking back.

    Stack

    Wotherspoon Hogg Hanlon Murray

Zemmama McBride Miller Rankin/Galbraith (not seen enough of Galbraith)

Stokes Riordan (Let him play his natural position)

    But you will pick Benji.

Would like to see Wotherspoon given a start in midfield with Galbraith starting on the other wing giving us excelent width and pace with Nish's height in the middle as a target man. Think Zemmama should be given a free roll just behind the forwards. Second half subs Riordan & Gow.

Yogi has to go to a three of Hogg Bamba and Hanlon, that is bloody obvious. Spoony and Murray are natural wingbacks, so get it done Yogi!

Who flanks McBride in the middle? Zouma and Miller probably. Altho Benji, Gow and Galbraith could all do a job in place of Miller.

left sided centre back is Hanlons position.
FWIW I dont think there is such a thing as a best starting 11. Horses for courses. It depends who we are playing and where IMO.

    Gow for Riordan
    Riordan for Nish

I pretty much agree with that selection, though i think Gow needs a run of matches.

    • i leave out nish beacause ive just had enough
    • benji because i want to see what deco will be like up front
    • miller because having him and mcbride in center mid leaves us to light weight and more phyical teams can walkover us
    • left mid goes to danny because he doe not get a chance.

I think considering we STILL haven't really sussed the RB position, my starting 11 would have to be viewed in a different formation, to the 4-4-2 we do play.

    Id go with..

    Stack
    Bamba Hogg Murray
    Wotherspoon Miller Rankin McBride Zemmama
    Nish Stokes

But i do know this formation would not work on the left, as Zemmama would not be able to opperate as a "wing back"

So with that in mind, back to our settled style, id pick

    Stack
    Wotherspoon Hogg Bamba Murray
    Zemmama Miller Mcbride Rankin Riordan
    Stokes

Riordan & Zemmama have both proved they can only really work back, when they are interested within thereselves, not consistently. So with that in mind, i'd rather see us having 3 better working midfielders on the field, to compliment Zemmama's flair, and Riordan's lazyness but gifted shooting abilities.

Stokes is a tireless worker, so im happy to have him upfront in the middle. But the system would differ when attacking to defending.

I would also like to see Rankin get forward a little more. and would ask this of him to try and support, as he is by far our fittest player, and has the engine to do this all game.

Swap nish for Gow and thats the team i would go for.
