Worked 2nd half vs Utd, and Zemmama tore M'well apart at Fir Park last time we were there.

If McBride was fit I'd have him in somewhere but I think there is no chance.

Riordan - Dropped for laziness, maybe coming on as an impact player?
Bamba - Dropped for poor displays recently of defending aswell as some shocking passing.Last edited by essexhibee; 18-02-2010 at 08:18 PM.

What are Hibeernian up to on Saturday?
Madness, as you know, is a lot like gravity. All it takes is a little push.

I would like us to try and put the team back together as similarly as it was at it's most successful. I see Thicot as the player best equipped to take over for McBride, although Stevenson may be in with a shout. I think we also need some sort of physical presence to be the outball - although I'm not sure if Nish is suspended straight away. Bamba is off form, and the worst thing, I think, is to let him keep making mistakes and dragging himself down. Hanlon and Hogg could have the edge.

...Wotherspoon.Hogg.Hanlon.Murray

..............Zemmama.......Nish(or Benji/Gow/Galbraith if Nish is out.)

Riordan drops out, because the system that has produced our best results doesn't seem to suit him. He is not the goalscorer that Stokes is, and is performing poorly at left mid - despite, may i add, having some good showings there early on, suggesting to me that his problems are in his own mind.

I think Yogi will revert to a back four of Wotherspoon, Hogg, Bamba and Murray. Paul Hanlon doesn't deserve to be dropped but he is the easy option for Yogi.
I don't want to see either of the Morrocans starting as I thought both were terrible on Wednesday and it didn't suit them. Others were terrible but at least they put effort in.
I would personally put Bamba into midfield to help out and play a back four of Wotherspoon, Hanlon, Hogg and Murray.

I think we need to get Miller back playing that inside right role that suited him so well during Zouma's recent lay off. Zemmama in the hole and Thicot in the McBride role.

Somehow we need to get width to our game to give the strikers a chance, zouman managed it first half at ibrox, but second half we went too narrow.

The patience which many supporters have shown towards Deeks astounds me. Week after week he does not perform. Prima Donnas are for operas.
Time to give one of the youngsters (Galbraith) a decent chance to stake their place in the team.
After Wednesday night's showing perhaps JH should ask Smith to choose the back four. Nobody is better placed than him to say who let the team down in Perth. Personally I would have Stevenson back in the team at LB and move Murray into midfield. Murray has more guts in him than half the team put together and it is high time that we established that our powder puff midfield is not there for anybody to roll over.
The plethora of forwards that we were boasting about a couple of weeks ago seems suddenly to have evaporated. Stokes, we know, will work all day but he needs the ball, preferably from the wing and cut back rather than aimlessly punted forward.
This is not knee jerk reaction after one bad game. The St.Johnstone game seemed like at least four games rolled into one. Watch the highlights again and contemplate what Cliff Pike has to say about the team that he obviously loves.
As for JH. The last thing we need is a manager in the stand. We saw enough of that last season with MP and all the shouting and gesturing did nothing than to cover up our inadequacies. You are paid to organise. Do it.

I can't quite fathom out the logic of playing with a midget midfield. Surely the last few games have shown that we need a bit more physicality in that area.
What about Murray, Miller, Thicot & Bamba across the middle.
i.e.
Smith
Wotherspoon Hogg Hanlon Stevenson
Miller Bamba Thicot Murray
Stokes Gow

Confidence is everything and right now it is the lowest it has been all season. Two shocking results, not necessarily performance in Rangers case, will have affected morale big time. Our goal difference has been hammered in the process and Yogi is guilty of unsettling a relatively solid back line by reintroducing Bamba, who quite simply has been poor by his own standards since returning from Africa with his morale low anyway after his nations hopes were dashed. His mind appears to be elsewhere. Hibs need to arrest the negative results immediately and in the process gain some confidence. A point will suffice. Motherwell are a form team and will feel they have a good chance of making it 3 straight defeats for our boys. I would go with a 4-5-1 for this game. Yogi lost the tactical mind game midweek, big time. It was galling reading the Saints manager gloating at how he predicted how Yogi would line up his side and prepared accordingly. Brown is a shrewd manager who will be rubbing his hands with glee at the prospect of catching Hibs at the right time. I say swamp the midfield and catch them on the break. As for personnel: I agree its not a time for lightweights like Zemmama. We need strong, physical presence and a burning desire to stop the rot and make life as difficult for Motherwell as possible. No pretty football, just sweat and guts. the pitch will not in any case allow for the pretty stuff. I expect a slog for both sides and a war of attrition. I don't envisage a Hibs win, nor do I see Motherwell scoring many and predict a draw. While I'm here, I fancy Dundee United beating the Hoops this weekend. They will fancy their chances of overtaking Hibs in the table. Oh the ups and downs of watching Hibs.

If Yogi wants to give Hanlon a run in central defence, I'd stick Bamba in defensive midfield. He doesn't have the organisational/linking skills of McBride but he tackles well and gives a physical edge in a department we're lightweight in.
Hogg should be restored as a central defender with D-Spoon reinstated at full-back with Murray.
I'd have Deeks up front with Stokesy and Galbraith wide midfield.
Probably our two best performances of the season have come against Motherwell. We really need to prove our bounce backability or we could tailspin badly at the business end of the season. Make no mistake, an SC exit to Ross County, bad derby defeat at the PBS and sliding out of the Euro slots are all possibilities on this form. However, I think we have too much talent and self belief to endure that triple nightmare.
The winning all the time was getting boring. Let's enjoy this slump while it lasts.
