We shouldn't do this .. but I forecast last night that Raith would beat the Sheep and Dundee.
We'll get past Ross Co and get Raith in the semi. Cue mass-suicide on KackBack.
We will then be at Hampden with just one - dare I say it - 'meaningful' win needed to scoop the cup .. and we'll fail!
It is the Hibs way! Cue mass-suicide on .net/bounce/mad etc!

Looked at Ross County's position in the league: 2nd in Division 1 with 2 games in hand which if they win means they go top. They could be SPL next season so they need to be treated with respect. No chickens getting counted here...

We wouldnt beat the old firm in a final IF we got there, its the old firm way - we would dick them for the whole match and then they would nick it. Ross County are no mugs, we have to take them seriously.
I just feel with this hoodoo in the cup we are always destined to fail, hence why i feel we will get so close, maybe even to the final, and bottle it. Though if one of the uglies is knocked out, then i would feel we would have to beat the other in the semis. Set up a final against anyone other than the Old Firm and I would fancy us.

There was about a 20 year period in the 70s and 80s where they weren't drawn together before the final.
They've come out together regularly since they started televising the draws. Sheer coincidence I'd imagine!

I've a sneaky wee feeling for Dundee Utd to do what we did in the 2004 League Cup - beat both halves of the OF in the quarters and semi, then b****r it up in the Final.
I won't tempt fate by predicting who they might play in the Final if it did work out that way.....

Dundee 2-1 Raith
Hibs 2-0 Ross County
Kilmarnock 2-1 Celtic
Rangers 2-0 Dundee Utd
I expect Rangers to go through tonight, as for the quarters, I feel one of the Old Firm are there for the taking. Calderwood has steadied the ship at Killie and with Celtic's current plight, I fancy Killie might spring a shock.
