    SPFA Player of the Year

It must be near to that time when the votes are counted for Player of the Year. Who will/should be nominated and do you think any of our lads will be up for it?

McBride and Miller have been excellent at what they do but on a national level, Stokes is the only one who is likely to be a contender IMO.

Given all the crap written about Davis recently, you'd have to think he'll have a chance, along with Boyd and possibly Bougherra?

It will be McGeady, Boyd or Davis. Probably Davis.

Hughes for manager of the Year however. And maybe Wotherspoon for Young player of the year.

The lad Craig Thomson who turned out for Aberdeen on Wednesday

I'd say Davis for POTY and Stokesy for YPOTY

Unlikely as i don't think a Rangers player has won it for years. More likely to be Robbie Keane.

Agree mate, the year Billy Reid won it, Walter Smith was on track for a domestic treble and I think it was the year of the uefa cup, yet it was given to a first division manager who was on track for the league, At least I think this was the year.

BTW Robbie Keane would be my choice.

He's hardly POTY - same old story though - the Glasgow rags know exactly when the voting takes place and fill their papers with whoever they're current favourite is (exactly why he's getting a lot of press lately).

Liam Miller has been just as good lately - nowhere near as much press though.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, vodka in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming, "WOO HOO what a ride!"

Best Players in the SPL I have seen this season have been....

    Gers, Bougherra, Davis, Boyd
Tic, Mcheaty and......they sold everyone else
    Hibs, Miller, Stokes, McBride
    Utd, Webster, Conway, Gomis

    The rest?....Mcarthur(Accies), Mehmet(Buddies), O'Brien(Well), Forbes(Well).

Probs a few others but those guys have been really important to their teams this season.

Anyone else notice for FotY, in the last 23 years there has only been two players outside of the Ugly Twins to win the award and for Player's Player, not been a winner outside of the Ugly Twins to win the award in 19/20 years.

I do believe the phrase is:

    "Get It Sorted Petrie"

No Hibs players have won it so unless we win the league and the Scottish Cup you can stick your hoose on Bet365 that it will be one of the Old Firm.

Can't believe that Jim Duffy (Morton) won it in 1984/85.
