Benji comes off the bench to score headed winner first game of the season 2-1 vs St Mirren in August.
Benji wins late penalty and converts it for 1-0 win vs Kilmarnock in September.
Benji scores late penalty rescues a 2-2 draw with Aberdeen in February.
Hardly had any time on the pitch this season but keeps making the difference.

Tell you what ... if there's a laddie you want to take a pressure penalty at any time, Benji's that laddie! Never in any doubt he'd score.

Get rid of him some said, doesn't work hard enough, poor attitude, treated Hibs badly, thinks he's better than he is.
Well done Benji. Again.

Coming into form at just the right time, maybe?

Benji should get his chance! Especially after several good impact performances coming off the bench recently.

Benji plays best when he comes on as a sub, i've said this from the start and will always say so

Hughes has got Benji performing & that will do nicely. He is also an excellent penalty taker, just looks so relaxed.

I stand to be corrected but I think that it is still the case that whenever Benji has scored we have not lost
This is how it feels

Our best line up: Same as started against Aberdeen with Benji instead of Nish and Zemmamma instead of Rankin. Simples.

I think Nish has been doing good in the last few games, the ball isnt bouncing 5 yards away from him when he tries to control it, he is starting to get the ball down and go past players, and even with diamond on his back all last night he was winning a good few balls in the air, just needs to work a bit on his finishing. Also think Rankin has been doing realy well recently, he gets about the pitch and isnt scared to put in a tackle and ive been very surprised at how much he is winning in the air for quite a small guy. Zemamma is better going forward but he never puts in a tackle. Would much rather leave it the way it is just know, bring both them on as super subs

With the likes of Stack, Hanlon, Benji, Zoomer, Gow and Stevenson on the bench, it just shows what a good squad Yogi has built in a very short time.
Give this man another season or so and I reckon we will be the real deal.

Benji takes a penalty and a half, looks so calm, straight run up, gives the keeper no idea which way he is going, waits for the keeper to move and puts it in the bottom corner.
Someone said it earlier on this thread but had no doubt he would score that.

Doing well coming off the bench, bit harsh if hes getting important goals but Id still keep him in that role.
I dont understand why we would replace Nish and Rankin with Benji and Zemmama; yes ability wise they are much better, but when it isnt going our way, that would more than likely be 2 more passengers. Yogi has even said it, our success has been partly down to us being tough to beat, where the players are willing to work for the ball, on top of being good players.

And we all know who they are as there must be at least one that sits near you on match days!
They also hate Hogg, Rankin, Nish, Maka, Hanlon, Thicot etc with the same vengeance!Last edited by TornadoHibby; 11-02-2010 at 06:41 PM.

I dunno if Benji can play on the left. For Ian Murrays cross that led to the goal against St. Mirren he was on the left IIRC(or thereabouts) and linked up well with Murray.
I dont WANT Riordan to be dropped, but I think he should be to give him a boot up the erse a bit and get him into the kind of form that got him a call up. No point keeping Benji on the bench when IMO he can be effective starting a game. Just my opinion.

Nish and Rankin have played well in the last few games and fully deserve their place in the team in my opinion. When we start losing, that's when we consider changing things.
