    Shaba to sue

More woe for the travelling circus. Hearts due him £100000 seemingly.

Been here before, eh ? Anderton, Burley et al - "Aye, you'll get your money eventually but only if you let us superglue yer lips together - sign here.."

    Good luck, Shabs.

This is in the Express. A horrid rag, I know, and some all or none of this may be true:

SACKED Csaba Laszlo is ready to take legal action against Hearts.

The former Tynecastle boss was bulleted last week but has still to be offered a settlement over the remaining five months of his contract.

Laszlo, below, claims he is due more than £100,000 and has been informed he could have a case for unfair dismissal against the Gorgie club.

It’s understood the Hungarian kept a log of events, including interference in team selections from the Tynecastle hierarchy, during his time at Hearts and is ready to use it.

Laszlo, 45, believes he was being forced out, and that was the reason the club failed to secure his transfer targets Izale McLeod from Charlton and Plymouth’s Steven MacLean, who has since joined Aberdeen.

Jose Goncalves was the man who brought Laszlo’s reign to an end. Laszlo included Goncalves in his squad for the match at St Johnstone on January 30 and was ready to defy an alleged order from the Tynecastle top brass not to play the Portuguese ace.

He says they did not want Goncalves to play for the club again because he had knocked back a new contract, and having gone against their instructions on the Friday before the game, Laszlo was fired.

New Hearts manager Jim Jefferies has since backed the club’s stance over Goncalves.
The bit in bold is interesting. I thought not playing Goncalves was JJ's decisions, no? Funny that.

I read an interesting piece in one of the better papers last week that suggested that, far from being unfairly dismissed, it could be argued that Csaba broke his own contract. By continually bad-mouthing his bosses in public, and touting himself for other jobs, he could have been sacked for misconduct.

Did he badmouth them? All he said was "gies a striker", really.

There's probably blame on both sides and I suspect Vlad will get away with a small out of court settlement.

... continually. I don't think I'd be happy with my staff criticising me, implicitly or explicitly, in public.

Can Goncalves sue as well? His treatment could be constructive dismissal.

I'd think it's a bit different. As a football manager he would be within his rights to answer questions on matters to do with the team. He should be allowed to say his team needs a striker, which they do, without that being taken as a criticism of his bosses.

Think his biggest problem will be getting the Mad One to pay up..........

He's working the media well though, have to give that to him.
The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits

The trouble with referees is that they know the rules, but they do not know the game

As I understand it, constructive dismissal is when an employer behaves in a way that makes it impossible for you to do your job. Telling a player he won't play unless he signs a new contract seems to fit this.

If anyone specialises in employment law feel free to correct me.

He could probably take it up with the Hearts Human Resource but i've a sneaky suspicion that Vlad is the head of that department as well!

That was the spin coming out of the Comedy Club. As another poster says, there will be an out of court settlement which includes a " silence " commitment & then the Politburo will return to normal.

A can't remember where I read it but one of the other reasons for Shabby's dismissal was "continually undermining the owner by asking for new players"

    He's the team manager FFS

He should be grateful they're not starting a whispering campaign about his private life, and trying to smear him as a drunk and a lech, as they did with Burley.

They really are a bunch of cheapskate, deceitful and unscrupulous pondlife running that club now.

I find it interesting that Campbell Ogilvie has been invisible during all these shenannigans.

Yet another tawdry episode in the recent history of Homfc.

The rest of the footballing world considers them a complete laughing-stock. Yet you have to wonder how many of their so-called fans can see it.

    Where's their pride???

I actually quite miss shabba and his ramblings, always a good laugh and who could forget his wee dance after the celtic game, much better than greeting faced jumbo.

    For a sixth-choice gaffer, he was a first-class slaver.

I only see Sad Jeff as a stopgap, TBH.

Vlad knows the score. And when the time is right, he will unveil a proper leader. A man who knows what it's like to pick the wrong day to stop sniffing glue.

Step up to the plate (again) Eduardo
