    Why sign for Hibs?

Money obviously plays a huge factor in a player's decision on who to sign for, but it's clearly not the only one given that Gow rejected the Yam Litas in favour of a lesser wage from Hibs.

    So, why should that be?

To start with, Yogi. He is well respected and well liked. He also has a reputation for putting sides out to play football.

The prospect of reuniting with Anthony Stokes and Kevin McBride and a choice of playing alongside the likes of Liam Miller, Zemamma, Ian Murray, Daviod Wotherspoon, Bamba and Derek Riordan compared to Mikey Stewart, Christian Nade, Gary Glen and some tatooed bloke from Ayr United.

The Training Centre. Danny Galbrath already rejected Hearts because of our superior facilities, not just the fact that we don't have to share them with the second year chemistry students who fancy a game of hockey!

The possibility of Europe next season. The Yams look unlikely to finish in the top 6, unless they sign an experienced, and able, striker (although they still might) while we're getting "luckier" as the season goes on.

The fact that Romanov can't be trusted to pay the wages also helps.

    Good luck Darren Barr.

I think it basically comes down to the fact that Maroon is a manky colour for a football strip...

Lesser wage now in hope he plays well enough to get a move with better wage, he probaby just dint think Hearts were stable enough to commit a few years. 6 months on lesser wage in shop window will suit him, IMO of course. Only other hope is we can come up with package in 6mths.

    Cool

Nah. Barr chose Hearts over us because he needs to be playing week in and week out. No point in signing for a team as a fringe player at this stage of his career.

Although I belive money will have been a big factor, this won't be too far from the truth.

I don't think Yogi will have given assurances of a game to Barr, at Centre Back at least. Maybe as a right back, but even if Bamba leaves, he's no replacement for him.

looks like money is not always a reason for a player to move clubs afterall although it is a big factor in modern times, however,I have just been told (roumor) that a young defender from Man.U is about to sign for HFC. DAVID GRAY? anyone heard ought?

    Why sign for Hibs?

A financially secure club at a time when others don't have that luxury.

A manager who is passionate about the job at hand.

Good quality team mates to play with.

A real chance of European football in the next few seasons.

A team which is encouraged to play football in the correct manner.

A club which has a brilliant training centre and a soon to be completed stadium.

A near cast iron guarantee that 'if your good enough, your old enough'.

A shop window for 'bigger' clubs if you perform well.

A club and team which have a real feel good factor around it at the moment.

A club which is on the up whilst many others are on a downward spiral.

This all makes me wonder what Darren Barr was thinking really. FUD!

I would agree with that if it was 2-3yr deal.

Gow has only signed on loan which means that at the very most we'll be paying 50% of his wages - that's why we can afford him. If he were to come here permanently THEN he'd be taking a wage drop.

Better chance of getting laid. Only exceptional cases like Darren Barr wouldn't look any more desirable in a Hibs strip, thus no reason to sign for us.
