Whats the weather like in Edinburgh, is there any chance the game could be off?
With us coming up from the south, is the game in any danger of being called off?

AFAIK, the game shouldn't be in any danger of being called off.

Snow forecast for tmrw afternoon but can't see game being off....
Pavements are suffering with compacted ice but I actually thought it wasn't too bad around the ground on Sunday and doubt things are any worse since then.

Anyone know when they will be inspecting the surrounding area before the game, if it's necessary?

It seems Plod is now getting more involved in the decision and appears to be able to veto matches going ahead on safety grounds if the surrounding areas around the ground are considered dangerous for walking on, irrespective of the conditions on the pitch and in the Stadium.
However as it's scheduled for live tv, perhaps the broadcaster might finance some de-icing outside if needed

This is the one thing that I really cannot understand and where's it came from as it's only been this season that this has happened? Is there a long standing history of injuries in the last 50 years of people attending football matches in the snow or ice that we were unaware of...no wait maybe it's due to the police budgets being cut and they now cannot afford to pay the overtime
Do the police close down George St and stop buses heading into the centre of town if it snows.
Can we get back to what we have done for the last 50 years and if the pitch is playable the game goes ahead.

How is the weather in Edinburgh ? because the weather forecast for the next 48 hours is meant to be snow followed by more snow.

id fully expect the pitch at ER to be fine.
the fact that both teams are edinburgh based means 'travel safety' cant be an issue.
or maybe im being crazy, as if its called off....i'll be back in NZ before the rescheduled game!!
