I've read that clubs are paid a set amount by FIFA for WCs and Euros. Don't know about ANC.
I think Inverness did pretty well out of that Romanian guy when he went to the last tourny.

Do FIFA not pay each club a thousand a day for each day they are in the tournament for each player? Im sure I read this in the paper last week, and there is something like a 2 and half grand pay out if a player gets injured.

The time and effort needed to pay large amounts of cash weekly and the interest that would be lost prohibits clubs from paying weekly wages.
