    Spl Split

I noticed the current spl table has a definite split regarding losses.

    Pos-Team----Defeats
    -------------------
    1 Celtic..............2
    2 Rangers...........1
    3 Hibernian.........2
    4 Dundee Utd......1
    5 Motherwell.......1
    6 Aberdeen.........3
    7 Hearts.............6
    8 St Johnstone....6
    9 St Mirren.........6
    10 Hamilton........7
    11 Kilmarnock......8
    12 Falkirk...........7
    -------------------

Is the spl boring, competitive, or avoid defeat at all cost?

So teams at the top of the table have lost (meaning they are likely to have won more)less than teams at the bottom,Isn't that how competitions are supposed to go?

I think the point was that the top 6 have only lost a maximum of 3 games each, whereas from 7th down the number of losses doubles.

i.e. there is a definite gulf in class between the top 6 and bottom 6.

But of our two defeats, one came against the side third from bottom, so it could be argued that there is the potential for any side to beat another, particularly with the gap closing a touch between the OF and the civilised (HoMFC not included).

I think the gap represents how tightly matched the top clubs are, hence how many draws are happening.

Or to put it another way, there is the same points gap between 6th and 7th as there is between 7th and 12th...

I think it shows the SPL has settled into the Top 6/Bottom 6 as it will end come May already. Now all that needs sorted is who will finish where in each half.
