John Hughes' men have lost just one of their last seven clashes with Hearts in the SPL and have managed two wins in four on their opponent's turf.
However, as is obvious from the table above, this fixture has recently been a paradigm of low-scoring derby matches and in fact, since 2007, the clash between Hibs and Hearts has produced an average of just 1.22 goals per game, lower than any other fixture to have been played in the SPL at least five times in this period "
Low scoring game ahead or are we due a goal fest ?

Those stats are pretty misleading. Hearts won the previous 3 league fixtures and there was also the cup last year. Thought I'd mention that before a jambo does

Decent enough article, but I have to pick the journalist up on 1 point:
This weekend Hibs travel to Tynecastle for the first Edinburgh derby of the season - a match that is likely to prove a sterner test of John Hughes' sides top two credentials than many of their fixtures thus far.
How on Earth can they try and make this fixture out to be "one of our sternest tests", other than the fact it's a derby?
We've faced a lot better sides than Hearts already, and I say that regardless of the outcome on Saturday!Madness, as you know, is a lot like gravity. All it takes is a little push.

We MUST approach it as a stern test, or we can forget 3 points.

The league table is wrong.
Either that or I feel pretty silly for claiming to be 2nd.Mon the Hibs.

We have been a better side than them since their quality down spiral.
And it only appears to be getting worse down their way.

Even though we have more points than they do, even though they are weaker than last year, this does not give us the right to three points. When we went to tynie at the end of last year and everyone was expecting an easy win for them, look what happened, lets not fall into the same trap.
