Hello
I notice that Darren D. scored another own goal last night - any autistic footballophiles out there know who the Scottish chumpion is?
My own 'favourite' will always be the late great Shaedler's 20 yarder into the top corner for the yams, I'm afraid. utterly stunning shot, just the wrong end.

Not SPL but some of these are crackers. Especially the one with the defender kicking it up in the air and heading it in (about the 3rd vid).

Remember Terry Butcher arrowing a perfect header into the top corner of his own goal when playing for the dirty huns.
Another good one was Donkey McPherson's against us in the 93(?) League Cup Final. Unfortunately it made no difference due to that little tossbag McCoist popping up with a suitably unathletic overhead kick to win it.

IIRC Butcher scored more goals against Souness's Rangers than any opposing players during the same period.
6 in total i think.

A jambo, perhaps Neil Berry scored two in one game against Celtic at Parkhead.

The one that hurts me most was Arthur's in the 1979 SC Final
This is how it feels

Not SPL but Jonathan Woodgate's debut for Real Madrid was a beauty!
An 18yard diving header into his own net at the Bernabeau....and then a red card just to round off a great day for him!
Strangely enough he's still loved in Madrid apparently...

Sure that I can remember Celtic player, Andy Lynch scoring two own goals and also heading against his own crossbar to almost make it a hat trick

Seem to remember John Blackley scoring a screamer into the top corner against Rangers. Could've been a dream tho'.

I remember Graham Mitchell lobbing Alan Rough from the touchline to score a shocker in a 4-0 home defeat against Dundee at Easter Road in the late eighties.
On a brighter note, Derek Whytes own goal header gave us a victory at Parkhead on the last day of the season, again late eighties sometime.Last edited by LaMotta; 29-10-2009 at 12:03 PM.

Arthur's cup final replay replay extra time OG was a real bassa.
I also remember Jackie Mac (snr) playing a 35-40 yard passback to Jim McArthur at Ibrox, only Jim was at the other side of his box and the ball trundled into the net. This was literally 2 seconds after the tv commentator (Arthur Montford IIRC) had said - "McNamara - one of the most reliable players in Scottish football".

Brian Whittaker lobbing Alan Rough to put us 2-1 up against Partick in '79 is without a doubt the best own goal I have ever seen Hibs benefit from.
It was Georgie Best's 1st or 2nd home game for us and there was about 20,000 at Easter Road. Ally McLeod scored the other from the penalty spot.
