Tough to call. Marleau certainly looked a bit worse for wear than Alfredsson did.

The Bell hit happened April 3. Alfredsson hasn't played a second since. ESPN are saying he might play game 3 tonight.

Concussion is a nasty thing. I think there are set rules that say they have to have a set time out if concussed maybe 10 days which would fit in with a possible return tonight?
Was more saying that Marleau looked worse externally than questioning who was hurt more.
Edit - Teams have adopted guidelines that include players’ being concussion symptom free for five days before they are allowed to return to the ice. Teams are required to conduct neurological tests on all their players before the season to provide baseline scores to measure players’ return to normal after they are injured. Teams also must report head injuries to the league office."
- from the NY Times when Brendan Shanahan was out concussed.
Then again, when discussing hockey hits there are differing arguments as to what constitutes a good hit. One which takes an opponent out without leaving lasting or lengthy damage or one which causes serious/long term injury. You could argue in this case that Bell's hit was the harder hit but that Sarich's was better as it did the required job without lasting effects.
Guess it depends on how you like to see the game played?Last edited by PC Stamp; 14-04-2008 at 09:17 PM.

Curtis was ootstanding when he came in to replace Kipper, word aroond town is will start game 4?????
Why not?
Miikka is having abit of trouble with the Sharks rite now, they seam to have his number, as yoo guys said he normally bounces back with a great after a bad one.
Cory huge hit on Marleau is the talk here, that hit sparked the Flames and we got a goal shorty after on the power play.

Cujo has played well since coming in, i certainly would not have any problems with him starting game 4. With Kipper having a mare and determined to put last night behind him, it can only be good for the flames having such healthy competition

Montreal Canadiens lead Boston Bruins 2-1 in series. Next game in Boston tonight.
Washington Capitals and Philadelphia Flyers tied at 1-1. Game 3 tonight in Philly.
Detroit Red Wings lead Nashville Predators 2-1. Preds won last night to get back in it.
Minnesota Wild lead Colorado Avalanche 2-1. Next game tonight in Denver. This one is going all the way IMHO. 3 games played each game ending up 3-2 to the winner after OT!
Pittsburgh Penguins lead Ottawa Senators 3-0. Has a 4-0 sweep all over it.
NY Rangers lead NJ Devils 2-1. Rangers won first 2 in NJ and NJ won at MSG. Next game in NYC tomorrow.
Calgary Flames lead San Jose Sharks 2-1. Next game Calgary tonight.
Dallas Stars lead Anaheim Ducks 2-0. 2 wins in Anaheim. Also has 4-0 sweep written all over it! Curse of the defending champs strikes again.

Sens are really disappointing... Montreal seems tough though.... Got NASN few days ago and I'm gonna record many many games in the next few weeks.....

Dull one last night for the Flames. Leading with just less than 5 mins to play and end up losing it in the last 10 secs. That could be a big blow. Then again they have a grteat play off record at the Shark Tank so I won't write them off just yet.
Anaheim come stroming back meanwhile against Dallas and the Avs hammer Minnesota in the first "non OT decided by the odd goal in 5" game of their series!

The Habs won game 4 by 1-0 in Boston. I would be surprised if Montreal doesn't go a long way in the playoffs, maybe the finals. Price's play has justified trading away Huet, which seemed a bit strange at the time.

Has anyone seen Jason Spezza and Dany Heatley? Their families are very concerned. They've been missing for a week, last seen in the vicinity of the regular season.

Oh well, looks like I just jinxed Montreal, Boston won game 5 by 5-1 and Price made a big boo-boo.

The number of shots Kipper has to face at times he could maybe do with the young guy behind him in the net!!

Seems a close series, one that we are likely to lose out on unless we do things the hard way

Sean Avery is a goon!
A goon has the cheek to level an accusation of lacking sportsmanship at Martin Brodeur who is IMHO one of the classiest players in the game!!! Avery is lucky that Brodeur didn't break his face for him after his pathetic antics throughout the series. Failing to shake his hand was probably the classiest gesture he could expect.
It's a-holes like Avery that I don't mind seeing getting taken apart by the bigger and better hitters in the game.
Saddest thing is that the Devils allowed it to upset them.
I'll like to see him try it against the likes of the Red Wings.

The Wild go out; The Capitals stay alive; Boston force a game 7. Big pressure on Montreal now. It'd be a huge upset to go out having led 3-1 against a team they traditionally flay in the regular season.
