Sky wanting £24.95 to watch a replay
So they allowed 1000 fans in, allowed to sing, never seen socially distancing observed and at the end AJ leaves the ring to be greeted by Mayweather who never had a face covering.
Callum Smith coming out to Wages Day by Deacon Blue.
Hated seeing Smith come out first but money talks
Canelo is just too good, can't take away his skill even though he's still a drug cheat
Canelo clearly the best boxer on the planet. Best since floyd IMO. Not sure he has a weakness.
An easy night's work for Canelo but it was set up to be.
Smith took the fight at short notice and took the payday. He's 31 so he'll get another shot at a world title.
I'd still like to see the Canelo v Saunders fight but I'm not sure that will ever happen.
Good fight about to start at 11pm on DAZN - Ryan Garcia v Luke Campbell.
Anyone interested in joining up give me a PM, have a link that will get us each a free month. £1.99 per month otherwise
Be interesting to find out if Garcia is a hype job or not, here we go
Great knockdown, Mon Campbell
Garcia is good, he's not a hype job but he's nowhere near as good as they are making out
One commentator especially was so biased it was embarrassing. The lads good but he’s in a tough weight class.
That body shot look utterly crippling.
Commentary aside, I thought that’s as a great ‘coming of age’ performance from Garcia. He’s not just a pretty face. Also thought Luke put on a good show but his time at world level is over now. Shame, another excellent U.K. fighter not to win a world title.
All Boxing suspended for the month of January in the U.K.
Dillian Whyte will have the chance to get his revenge against Alexander Povetkin as Matchroom Boxing confirmed their rematch for 6 March.
The Russian, 41, produced a stunning knockout win in the fifth-round of their WBC interim title bout in August.
Whyte, 32, was originally set to meet Povetkin for a second time in late November 2020 at Wembley Arena.
However, the fight was postponed after the the veteran Russian tested positive for Covid-19.
Josh Taylor unification fight with Ramirez pencilled in for May. Promoter Bob Arum says......
“Hopefully things are better in May and we can get some Scottish people coming to Las Vegas, that would help boost the economy of our city.*I don’t know necessarily about the economy but certainly the beer sales will increase.”
I see Teo Lopez has been mentioned at some point. Can't see it, Josh far more likely to step up than Lopez any time soon I'd have thought.
If Josh beats Ramirez I'd expect him to make the step up in the next fight or two then build up to fights with the superstars. Still a couple of huge fights for Teo at lightweight.
Thoughts?
Edit: I'm forgetting about the Catterall 'deal' but a defence against Zepeda probably a good thing given his profile from fight of the year as well.
Yeah there’s big money to be made for Lopez at 135 if he can hang around at that division. He is big for the weight though so that might be the reason for looking to moving up and calling out Taylor.
With a big performance and win against Ramirez in the States, it would set up a NYC bout at MSG / Barclays Centre v Teo quite nicely. Undisputed v Undisputed. It would possibly draw more $$$ than a Crawford fight also?
