Also furlough only covered 80% up to 2500 a month. So the difference is a lost more than 20% for almost every player.

He wasnt entirely clear on this - Richard Gordon said this;
'It hinges on wage cuts' - analysis
BBC Radio Scotland's Sportsound presenter Richard Gordon
They're talking about the highest earners taking a temporary cut equivalent to about 15-20%. They had deferrals already in place, and they're going to be paid in full next May. But this is a cut that will last for whatever period of time is agreed.
I think they're hoping to get that black hole of losses down from £10 to nearer £4m, and it would appear it hinges on wage cuts. They're hoping to make no redundancies at all, and it would not affect any employee earning less than £30,000 a year.
It is a wee bit disingenuous to say they have made the savings - until the players accept some rather large wage cuts.............and they are cuts, not deferrals.............then they cant make these savings.
I'm guessing that it applies to the non-playing staff only. The players are on deferred wages for the foreseeable future.
The Club can afford it more now than they could do a few months back, as the final SPFL money is in, and ST sales have picked up quicker than they would have expected back in March.
Exactly. Hibs will have been topping up the furlough payments to meet whatever the various deferral totals were in wages.
The deferred portion of salaries will come at a later date when the club is back on an even keel.
The figure isn't going to be 20% either. JRS pays 80% 'up to £2500 a month'... Every senior player will be on significantly more than that.
Player X agrees a deferral from £8000 a month to £6000 a month = govt paying £2500 and the club adding £3500. Player X gets the £2000 a month he has missed at a later date when the club can afford it.
JRS will be over now that they are back to work, with Hibs paying player X the agreed temporary cut of £6000, while negotiations over further reductions in costs go on.
Surely that's how it works...
How's that Nisbit fella getting on at Dundee Utd? :greengrin:cb
