Good summary on the attached link
Hope Chelsea absolutely pump Villa today so there's no chance of St Johnstone getting group stage football.
So we've finished 3rd in the league and we can't even qualify for the europa league?
which is a nonsense. regardless of yesterday's result I've said before that finishing higher in the league should always out trump a cup win for European placings.
win 5-6 games or finish third over 38 games... no brainer

We find out our potential opponents on 16th June. It will be the winners of a 1st qualifying round tie so we won’t have long in real terms to book travel should the opponents be on the green list. Hoping for a League of Ireland opponent personally.
We could potentially draw Hibernians FC of Malta I believe

We’re going on an adventure!!
I see Tottenham will be England’s representatives for the conference league.
Sorry if it’s already been covered but is there anywhere we can see a list of teams we could come up against in our first qualifying round?
I thought this new tournament was supposed to give the "lesser" leagues a decent shot at extended European football. How come the Scottish representatives still have to play six ****ing games to get there? No doubt some loser 10th placed Spanish/Italian/English team qualifies automatically?
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2021...ference_League tends to be kept well up to date - it’s already been updated to include Spurs.
I think it does give lesser leagues more opportunity. Thats to compete in it not win it though. We'll probably be playing teams from Luxembourg, Iceland, Gib, Estonia etc in the qualification rounds. We will have a much better chance in making the group stage in the Conference League than we have done in the Europa League. I'm looking forward to it, love our European history and our European adventures. The more games the more potential dosh!! Be great to play teams from Wales or Ireland in our qualifiers!
So from what I can gather we're several games away from a group stage, whilst teams that have finished lower in their "better" national leagues enter at a later stage than we do, and are then seeded to further increase their chances of progression? Quite corrupt in my opinion.
Do we now come in the League cup at the knock out stage?
So we have 3 ties to try and negotiate to get through into the groups of this competition?
What would it have been if we won the cup?
