It’s ok. You collect credits and use them to view a variety of sports of your choosing.
I signed up longbangers if anyone would be so kind to follow us - there's the ability to upload short videos so we're trying to think of ideas to give more from the podcast.
Some Joe Newell content (you may have to sign up to view)

Not available in Ireland :no way:
I’m treating my subscription this year as a donation. Perhaps understandably in the current situation there is not really much new content unique to it other than complete matches the following day. The pitch side highlights, which in terms of actual incidents covered are light years ahead of the regular ones, don’t even seem to make it onto HibsTv.
My expectation is that as a platform for domestic fans HibsTV may disappear to be merged into the single view/sign on access. The question will be is will subscription only content be delivered such that it encourages domestic subscribers to continue to pay for that additional content. I doubt there is significant income from domestic subscribers at present.
A website called Dugout (https://dugout.com/) has been doing something similar for a little while.
It doesn’t compete with the club’s tv channel. All the essential match coverage, interviews, etc will still be on there.
What they do is put up bits and pieces of behind the scenes and archive content. Extras for super fans that want more than just club tv or bite size snippets that might be suited to the younger demographic.
It’s free to view but the club gets cash out of the adverts placed.
I think this sounds like pretty much the same thing.
Good to see the club trying something different to try to increase revenue. I suspect that the number of Hibs TV subscribers is pretty low compared to the number of fans we have so they have to try to monetise the all the content they create. They are trying something to use the content and get some income.
I'd imagine if people want to watch it all without adverts they can pay for the subscription, if they can't afford to pay for Hibs TV or don't want another annual subscription and can bear watching a few adverts then they can use this and the club still gets money.
Hopefully it works for us and we get a decent income out of it.
I think it must be in it’s infancy. There are a few Hibs related videos available and some from other football teams and other sports. They give you credits to get you started and then you can earn more by inviting friends to join and by looking at adverts but so far I haven’t found any. Looks promising tho’.
Hopefully won’t cannibalise Hibs TV although I.
Must admit I cancelled Hibs TV as I wasn’t using it and opted for the PPV. Maybe this is a group of folks that it could be aimed at ?
We’re going to be hosting some Longbangers content on Recast as well, we spoke with them and we’ve got a great opportunity to support them in pushing income Hibs’ way.
You can sign up with this link and follow us:
https://recast.app/invited?referrer=5mW18. It’s free, and when you watch Hibs’ content you’ll be generating income for the club.
It’s a great idea, we’re really happy to be on board with them.
I just put in my email address and on the very next page my Brave browser told me it had blocked 10 trackers. How much other **** is it going to try to drop on your phone/computer? I'll give it a miss.
Doesn't work outwith the UK.
Loadaepish!
I have signed up. Seems ok but surely the club make money off uploaded YouTube videos and this seems the same kind of thing.
Do they have an app you can download from Google or just website based? Anyone know?
My understanding is that the portion of revenue Hibs get from Recast is more than they get from YouTube so it’s better for us to watch on Recast than YouTube in terms of supporting the club.
Doing think there’s an app yet, but your browser should let you set it as an icon on your phone Home Screen. Can definitely do it with Apple anyway.
Link doesn’t do anything for me but managed to find you using the search at the top of the page...you now have a new follower.[emoji16]
I’ll admit to have never listened to your podcast as I have other pod’s that take all my listening time. So after that bombshell I should maybe swiftly move onto saying I’d defo be interested in short vids through the likes of recast so looking forward to seeing what you guys cook up on this for sure [emoji736][emoji736]
Watched the Doig and Newell video on Hibs Tv and then watched it again in recast, also recast the videos, nof sure how much Hibs get for a video watch but every little helps.
Is there an actual app you can download on iOS? I’ve tried searching for it in the App Store on my iPad and can’t find it.
That's up to you, obviously, but if you apply this principle broadly then you'd hardly use the modern internet at all. I also use Brave, and with the standard tracker blocking on it blocks:
5 trackers viewing this hibs.net thread
6 trackers on the YouTube home page
15 trackers on the Guardian home page
…
etc
Surely if you're concerned about this, the thing to do is, er, what you're already doing – use a browser or browser extension to block trackers?
