Fell asleep last night but watched this morning without knowing the result. What a fight. Thought JT was in trouble early doors as he struggled with the speed and movement of Ramirez but he came on strong and after the 2 knockdowns it was all about seeing it home.
An unbelievable achievement that is all the more remarkable considering how quickly it has come about. It might be a wee bit down the line but I'd love to see Taylor v Crawford at 147.
What's with the refs making it all about them ?
Ref was a pain in the arse last night.
He nearly got punched at one point as he was so eager to jump in.
Is inside boxing not allowed anymore ?
Well done Josh. Great fight and managed it well.
I dont think he was in any trouble at all during the fight.
Hope he gets a welcome befitting of the worlds best when he touches back down in Edinburgh.
King Ken never 😢
That's Hearn now announced the DAZN link up, matchroom leaving Sky and starts the 1st of July
Wonder how much DAZN will cost now. Can’t see them leaving it at £1.99
Floyd Mayweather fighting on sunday against a youtuber whatever that is?
Just seen an interview with him, and he's taking this as a joke fight, saying his career was the mashed potatoes, and this is the grave.
He's already earned £30m for this fight, who the **** is buying this tripe?
Let's be honest Floyd Mayweather has made hundreds of millions of dollars from haters paying hoping to watch him lose. The longer it went that he didn't the more people paid just in case.
Now he's 'fighting' a guy who will bring hundreds of thousands of YouTube fans to the party along with a few boxing fans this time wanting Floyd to win. I think he referred to it as legalised robbery and he's right.
I won't be paying for it but if I'm awake, and at 4am I invariably am albeit for different reasons than those of 15 years ago, then I'll probably find a stream to watch it.
Was awake at 4am and found a stream. Awful fight, glad I never paid for it.
One thing i did notice was I’d looked at the odds out of interest. William Hill only seemed to have a market for an outright winner, no option for a draw. Wouldn’t be surprised if the whole thing was fixed and heavily financed by bookies who knew they wouldn’t be paying out a penny.
Safe to say LP won’t be going anywhere in the sport though if he couldn’t land anything on a 44 year old who hadn’t fought a boxer in 6 years that he had 35lbs on. May weather tried to respectfully allude to as much afterwards.
I just watched it on YouTube out of morbid curiousity. It was ridiculous. Paul windmilling like a 5 year old presented with a punchbag at the end of the 1st round, Mayweather barely threw a punch of note in the 1st 3 rounds and Paul could hardly breathe by the end of the 4th he was so gassed.
The whole thing was a pantomime scripted to set up a fight with the brother later in the year.
I loved Mayweather as a boxer and would argue for him as the best of his generation and an all time great until I was blue in the face but this stuff is farcical. I know it's all about making money and playing the villain and whatever else but someone at some point is going to get seriously hurt with this influencers fighting trend and it doesn't need real boxers helping to potentially legitimise it.
Wonder who Taylor will face next. Now he is unified champion, will be step up a division? I suppose the problem with achieving such an amazing feat in unifying the division is, where does he go next?
Lee McGregor off to Kazakhstan fir his next fight.
Mental end to Ritson V Ponce, Ritsons corner throws the towel in and Steve Gray the ref throws it back out
