50 off 28 for Hales!
Eng 84/0 after 8.
Cruising - he said aware he's tempting fate big time. :greengrin
They are making this look so easy.
Incredible.
Outstanding from Butler , Hales and Rashid today. That’s a sore one for India.
A quite magnificent performance, won by 10 wickets with 4 overs remaining.
Sky are allowing Channel 4 to show the final live on Sunday, nice wee bonus for people.
Looking like poor weather for the final which is frustrating.
Here we go, the final. This should be a cracker, both teams in great form. I’m tilting towards Pakistan so I have probably just made England favourites now. :greengrin
Rizwan out, Curran bowling well.
And Haris now in, he will be fearless.
Great first ball from Rashid to send Haris packing. A key moment.
Rashid again. Delighted for him.
England should win from here but you never know in sport.
Afridi. That was a superb ball. Game on. :greengrin
Butler in some form with the bat. If they don't get him soon they are in trouble.
Buttler out. 45-3.
Brook gone. This is superb stuff from Pakistan, the pressure has been slowly increasing for the past few overs.
England just need one big over and it's game won.
Not sure it's coming though so could be tight. You still think Pakistan need to bowl them out to win though.
Few 4s and a six between two overs have all but won it for England
Ben Stokes does it again, he gets better and better.
:agree:
It's sometimes easy, because we live in such an ephemeral age, to lose sight of the sheer scale of hs achievements. If not already, he will be England's greatest ever all-rounder. It's not just about his compellong stats across all three formats, it is the stuff that is harder to measure - his presence on the field, his ability to make a breakthrough on a lethargic fourth day pitch with a ball that's 60 overs old and he's a bloody good fielder to boot.
I had hoped for a Pakistan win, going into the match. When they shine they are a sheer, unadulterated joy to watch. Lots of credit to England though. Taking Babar's wicket was momentous and more than a bit lucky but they relly turned the screw on Pakistan in the second half of their innings. It wasn't a great total in the end but there was something in the pitch for Pakistan. I think any hope for them really faded when Afridi had to stop bowling.
Well played England, white ball kings for now and they can be rightly very proud, but a real challenge awaits in defending their 50-over trophy in India next year!
England off to a poor start in Adelaide - 73-4 after 14 overs.
147-5 from 28 overs.
England pumped by 6 wickets.
