Ooft. This is much too hard but I'll have a think.
Very difficult. Top 10 might have been easier for me.
Handle With Care - Travelling Wilburys
Both Sides Now - Joni Mitchell (although like the dance versions more)
Dignity - Deacon Blue
McFly - It's All About You
You've Got A Friend - Brand New Heavies
I'm choosing:
Alison - Elvis Costello
Sunshine on Leith - Proclaimers
This must be the place - Talking Heads
The Bewlay Brothers - David Bowie
Things the Grandchildren should know - Eels
Impossible to answer and all depends on what mood I'm in. I could write a list now and it would be outdated tomorrow.
Hmmm this is very difficult and will no doubt change daily but I'll go for:
Enjoy The Silence - Depeche Mode
Walking in my Shoes - Depeche Mode
Kaleigh - Marillion
Don't Dream It's Over - Crowded House
Mr Brightside - The Killers
Man of the World - Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac
How Long - Ace/Paul Carrack
Right Down The Line - Gerry Rafferty
One - Mary J Blige / U2
Dakota. - Stereophonics
Unfinished Sympathy - Massive Attack
How Soon Is Now? - The Smiths
Fight the Power - Public Enemy
Halah - Mazzy Star
Everything Flows - Teenage Fanclub
Would never not be in a top ten for me, and were the first five I thought of
Impossible!!! But without thinking too hard
Born Slippy - Underworld
People are People - Depeche Mode
Sunshine On Leith- The Proclaimers
Hurt - Johnny Cash
Creep - Radiohead
If it was top 5 albums I'd find it easier but this is impossible given my age!
Up to the late 70s it would include
Hey Jude - The Beatles
Honky Tonk Women - Rolling Stones
Marquee Moon - Television
God Save The Queen - Sex Pistols
(White Man) In Hammersmith Palais - The Clash
But there would need to be something by Bowie and Squeeze in there too.
Next list would probably start with I Am The Resurrection by the Stone Roses but just can't narrow it down to 5 yet.
Tough but these are songs I'd be likely to most listen too.
(1) Bohemian rhapsody = Queen.
(2) The final countdown= Europe.
(3) The Boxer = Simon & Garfunkel.
(4) Spain train= Chris de burgh .
(5) shakin all over = Johnny kid and the pirates.

Smithers-Jones - The Jam
Spirit of 76 - The Alarm
Uniform - Inspiral Carpets
Mickey - Spear of Destiny
Baba O'Reilly - The Who
5 if my faves but it is an impossible task.
5 taken from the top 10 played on my phone, but could easily be a top 50. In no particular order.
1 - Ain’t No Sun Since You’ve Been Gone, Dusty Springfield
2 - A Bird In The Hand Is Worth Two In The Bush - The Velvettes
3 - Breaking Down The Walls Of Heartbreak- Johnny Johnson & The Bandwagon
4 - Pink On White Walls - Paul Weller
5 - Paperback Writer/Back In The USSR - The Beatles
Hyperballad - Bjork
My Independent Country - Shonen Knife
Freakin' Out - Graham Coxon
Things The Grandchildren Should Know - Eels
Girl From Mars - Ash
And to throw in my five least favourite - Bohemian Rhapsody, Money, Mustang Sally, Sweet Child O'Mine, Belter
Tricky one but here goes
1. Leatherface - Springtime
2. S.L.F - Suspect Device
3. The Jam - Down in the tube station
4. Ramones - Bonzo goes to Bitburg
5. Dead Kennedys - Holiday in Cambodia
No particular order
Hand in glove - The Smiths
Disco Down - Shed Seven
What’s the story (morning glory) - Oasis
A certain romance - Arctic Monkeys
Revolution - The Beatles
That was harder than expected

This is one of those impossible tasks as it always really depends on what kind of mood you're in, even a top 10 would be difficult. I was born in early 80's so my musical taste was influenced by the incredible music scene of the mid 90's, although I was trained in classical music for a bit in my early teens (I'll refrain from sticking any classical music on this list though!):
Roachford - The Way I Feel
Jeff Buckley - Last Goodbye
Roy Orbison - Beautiful Dreamer (First song I have vivid memories of hearing, it was from my grandads old vinyl record collection. He died before I was born so this is my invisible connection to him)
Morcheeba - Otherwise
The Verve - Lucky Man
Seems obscene not to choose a Blur/Oasis/Radiohead song as these three bands defined the era I loved so much IMO, I could swap Lucky Man out for around a dozen others from these three bands, but I didn't, so there we are :greengrin.
Love your clash selection - my fav from them too.
The Rolling Stones - let it loose (this is the only certainty in my top 5 and it’s number 1)
Justin Townes Earle - time you waste
Townes Van Zandt (his version isn’t my favourite but it’s his song) - Pancho and Lefty
Jason Isbell - cover me up
The Eagles - the last resort
*edit - in fact, La cienega just smiled (Ryan Adams) has to be in there too, so struggling already, Eagles probably have to drop-out
Cigarettes And Alcohol Oasis
My Generation The Who
Going Underground The Jam
Too Much Too Young The Specials
Alive And Kicking Simple Minds
Like both of those (incidentally seen both Steve and EmmyLou earlier this month). Steve Earle would be my favourite solo artist, and EmmyLou Harris not far off favourite female singer!
Anyway, to answer your question - 100% Jason Isbell and Elizabeth Cook. Thoroughly recommend it if you haven’t heard. They also done Townes’ ‘Tecumseh Valley’
The Undertones - Teenage Kicks
The Proclaimers - Sunshine on Leith
The Libertines - Time for Heroes
The Courteeners - Here Come The Young Men
Squeeze - Up The Junction
This could change on a day to day basis though :greengrin
