Really enjoying Wet Leg
The mysterines album :aok:
Fire Doesn't Grow On Trees by The Brian Jonestown Massacre. Tremendous.
Patience in Presence by Celebration Summer. Absolutely brilliant melodic punk album with a sound similar to Leatherface, hot water music and tiltwheel. My favourite of the year so far.

Not a new album by any means, but one that I have liberated from my sister's loft.
Maximum Darkness by Man, recorded live at The Roundhouse in 1975.
Smell that patchouli 😚
Still called Man.
From the band that played on Maximum Darkness, only Martin Ace remains in the band (below, right).
Also in the band now is Malcolm Morley, who was part of the Rhinos, Winos and Lunatics (a truly great album) version of the band in 1974.
Terry Williams had brief success with Dire Straits, and has seemingly retired. Micky Jones and Deke Leonard have both sadly died.
John Cippollina (Quicksilver Messenger Service) also guested on Maximum Darkness, and he has also died.
See these artists while you can.

New Electric Callboy album dropped today - Tekkno - perfect blend of heavy, silly, fun and breakdowns for days.
Also new Devil Wears Prada album today - Color Decay - these guys continue to improve with age - I love their earlier, heavy deathcore albums but they've evolved to build in so many layers and melodies. This is a stunning album.
I'm on an oldie that I managed to get hold of after years of wanting it. Battle hymns for the recluse youth by Tiltwheel. It's from 1996 but spotted it on eBay and managed to get it. First time I've ever seen it in the wild.
Absolutely love it, melodic hardcore punk.

Very varied bunch
Tim Burgess’ new album is quite quirky, but on first couple of listens I think I like it.
New 2022 version of Dexys classic album Too-Rye-Ay. Don't notice a huge difference from the original but it sounds amazing. Complete with rarities and remixed gig from 1982 if you like that sort of add-on :greengrin
Been listening. Sounds like he's boosted the bass and softened the horns. There are also slight differences in instrumentation and a lot more separation.
A great and underrated album with no weak songs. Looking forward to getting used to this new version.

Loving the newish album from Working Mans Club https://workingmensclub.bandcamp.com/album/fear-fear was over in Sheffield last week at a festival & they put on a great set on the Sunday night. If you fancy a bit of electro/synthpop they are well worth a listen, catchy!
Yeah Yeah Yeah’s Cool It Down is top notch.
Curb Stomp Earth by Long Knife, blistering hardcore out of Portland Oregon very much in the style of Poison Idea. One of the best I've heard this year.

I've been jamming both 'Hell Finds You Everywhere' by Thousand Below and 'Dark Sun' by Dayseeker lately - both absolutely sublime albums, and both late contenders for my AOTY.
Enjoying Julian Cope's album 'Robin Hood' which came out a few weeks ago. His new releases tend to fly under the radar a bit these days, but he's still putting out wild stuff. 'Charles the Turd' is a particularly tickling song on the record.
Not opened this thread for months, agree the Too Rye Ay as it should have sounded is far better than the original. I wasnt expecting it to be as good. Their New Album, The Feminine Divine is a stonker. Some real cracking songs, Kev's Irish guilt and Prince like funk...
Also Magpie Arc's Glamour in the gray. I'm not generally a folkie but grew up with the bass player Alex Hunter who is a good Hibbie. Some stonking rock guitar alongside more trad folk through the album.

Ruckus! by Movements, released today, has been an excellent soundtrack to a busy day in the office!
Liking the new Coral album, Sea Of Mirrors.
It’s quite chilled but not quite what I’d hoped it would be based on how they described it “ Combining their love of 60s and 70s Western cinema, baroque pop, Love, Scott Walker, Sergio Leone, Lee Hazelwood and Ennio Morricone. Was hoping for more of a The Good The Bad & The Ugly and Once Upon A Time In The West sound.
New Mikes Kane album is also ok. Has its moments but not as good as his earlier albums.
