I've never really liked that song. The hyber-knee-en soldier bit really doesn't work for me.

It was the biggest cock you'd ever seen
But you've no idea where that cock has been
You said you were careful, you never were with me
I heard you did it four times, but johnnies come in packs of three
We were born before the wind
Also younger than the sun,
The silicon chip inside her head gets switched to overload......
When you wake up in the mornin' and you can't remember much about the night before
Round like a circle in a spiral, like a wheel within a wheel.
A long, long time ago
Warburton’s a fanny...
I wish I was a fisherman,
Tumblin on the sea’s
I may not always love you

I know it's an individual opinion but, an explanation about why some of these lines are good would be handy. Not picking on the poster of the last post but, what makes that line so great?
Fair point, for me, God only knows by the Beach Boys is one of the great moderm love songs that starts with telling the person that their love might not last then quietly goes on and lays a number of unlikely events before it comes true. Completely rewrites how a love song could be. Set to a Brian Wilson soundtrack. Thats worth the entry fee on its own.

If you want to turn me on to, now anything you really want to.
Way back deep into the brain.
Way back past the realms of pain.
The Doors -The Hilldwellers.
Darkness at the break of noon
Shadows even the silver spoon
The handmade blade, the child's balloon
Eclipses both the sun and moon
To understand you know too soon
There is no sense in trying
