I've honestly no idea after watching those two games. Not even sure what formation we looked better in. So many positive signs over the two games.
I'm sure we'll see plenty changes in the league cup games as well.
Genuinely buzzing for the Clyde game next Saturday.
This is beginning to feel like the early days of Stubbs. After a horrendous season and awful football, I think that even a slightly slow start (with an acceptable derby performance) may be overlooked if we're getting good football from promising young players and by mid season I think we'll be absolutely flying.

I’ll be honest at the moment it could be any starting line up looks like good competition for places like a lot of people I cannot wait till next Saturday for the Clyde game 🇳🇬
I’d like to see Dabrowski start in at least a couple of the group games.
After the last two games I'm absolutely gutted that I'm going to miss the Clyde game, it's hard to judge anything on friendlies but it looks very possible that LJ just might be able to pick an exciting team to watch out of the 22 plus players we've seen in action in Portugal.
What his go to first XI might be over the season, never mind this Saturday, has actually become quite hard to work out given how good some of the new lads and fringe players have looked in both games, they proved today that our total domination of Hartlepool wasn't just because they were Ertha Kitt, we were up against far better quality today and still dominated for most of the game.
What we seem to have is real competition for starting places in practically every area of the pitch and no matter what LJ finally settles for as his first choice XI we are going to have real strength on the bench as well.
This is Hibs so the big worry this early is that we have flattered to deceive a bit, but if that turns out not to be the case I'm actually quite excited for the season ahead now, something I never thought I would be saying even three weeks ago :greengrin

Marshall, Miller, Porto & McGeady look like the only nailed on starters, with the caveat that it is very, very early days.
Great to have healthy competition for places and that's with Hanlon, Mitchell, Magennis and Nisbet to come back.
It would be good to get Dabrowski involved in cup games but Marshall needs to build an understanding with the defence, so he might have to wait.
If the five subs rule applies, then there's still plenty of scope to try different combinations.

Based purely on what I've seen from the friendly's.
We'll have a slightly tougher game 3 days later so the XI picked to start v Clyde will not necessarily be our strongest. I'll be surprised if more than 3 or 4 start both games.

Really tough though as Delferriere, Henderson, JDH, Cadden and Campbell have all played well in pre-season and could easily start. Good options to have.
Think Doidge should be at the bottom of the forwards based on what he showed in Portugal compared to Melkerson and Youan.
Its funny cause Rocky has done absolutely nothing wrong in preseason, and pretty much strolled it, and no mention. Such is the squad at the minute.Quote:

I know it's only preseason where we weren't under huge pressure defensively but I'm surprised more haven't gone with McLelland at CB...
I thought Rocky was flapping a bit for at least one of the goals conceded and another couple of chances over the two games in Portugal.
Also don't think LJ rates Rocky very much (neither do I), I'd be surprised to see him in the starting 11.
