Great to see it back!
Foals were excellent, didn't disappoint.
I'm obviously getting old as there are lots of acts this weekend that I haven't heard off.
BBC trying to hard with their "diversity", although great coverage.

Sam Fender looked phenomenal.
Very jealous of a lot of friends who are there, not been since 2017 but with 2020 tickets being rolled over for ticket holders I didn't stand a chance of getting one. Have to admit that circa £300 for a festival ticket (likely considerably above that next year) is a bit rich for me nowadays anyway.
I love watching the live coverage, I actually think I'd find being there a nightmare. :greengrin
Its the acts you don't expect to enjoy every year that i take most pleasure in. Yesterday it was Robert Plant and Alison Krauss who stood out for me. Two great voices that blend together beautifully backed by a superbly tight band.
The West Holts stage mid afternoon is usually a great place to be, ended up catching a Japanese funk/jazz orchestra fronted by a man in a loincloth and gown shouting "ORRRCHEESSSTRRAAA!" a lot and backed by dancers painted head to toe in white doing interprative dance once. Think they were called the Shibushashirazu Orchestra if memory serves me right. Also seen a guy called Ata Kak who is from Ghana and mixes music that sounds like Gameboy music with rap and some incredible dancing. Would never have spent money to go and see them but just came across them and had an amazing time.
It's what you don't plan to see there that largely makes your weekend as opposed to what you do plan to see.
Also met half of Dick & Dom once just before Kool & The Gang. I was spectacularly drunk, called him the other one's name and when he tried to tell me I said "Same thing really" and although he took it in a professional enough manner, he clearly wasn't overly chuffed about it :greengrin
Oh, and I'm also pretty sure that thanks to Glastonbury and a chance drunken evening with a group of strangers that I'm a one off character on Rastamouse.
I really wish they’d ban the flags. They do my nut in!
I must be in the minority but its a scene I never want to be a part of.
The music lineup is really not my jam and it’s become a very ***** ground of politics, religion, meditation, science and current affairs. There’s nothing wrong with most of those things, but they’re absolutely not what im looking for at a music festival.
It IS great to see it (and other music festivals) back though. They really are brilliant, vibrant communities.
I’d have loved to have gone to this 25 - 30 years ago.
There’s just nothing that appeals to me about it any more, especially the music.
I'm the same. What happened to bringing across some exciting American bands? Or is that just not hip or whatever the term is these days? I remember back in the mid 2000s watching brief highlights of the likes of Grandaddy, My Morning Jacket and Rilo Kiley and being blown away as I'd hardly heard any of their stuff.
The stages that are televised throughout the day are far from the best places to be. West Holts, The Park, even John Peel has lots of great music to be discovered (and dozens more that I've forgotten about). Not to mention the comedy, cabaret, poetry, circus, spoken word and political debate tents, or the Greenpeace or Arts & Crafts fields.
There's over 100 stages and I've found my best Glastonbury's have come from the times I've looked at the lineup and seen the least that are "must sees" and allow for more exploring time. I'd still recommend giving it a go.
Sad to hear that Lauren Lavigne has had to pull out of Glastonbury because her mum has just died.
Nah, I'm not one to bash the BBC - their website coverage of Glasto is decent after the festival - but they're very focused on certain stages where most of the real spirit of Glasto isn't found. It's really not a great representation of what it's all about or the people that go.
The Gabriels!?! Wow
Must be an age thing. Gabriels top the hit parade for me too.
I'm also in that minority.
I'm sitting watching it now and it looks like my idea of hell, wouldn't thank you for going to it.
Far too crowded, hate the idea of sleeping in a tent and if you're unlucky to be standing behind one of the many people who are sitting on someone's shoulders then you won't see much.
Personally not for me at all but each to their own, as you say though it is good to see events like this returning this year as there's obviously many people who do enjoy this kind of thing.
Actually enjoyed the Blossoms set, not normally my cup ot tea but love Tom Ogdens strange out there choice of clothes
Wet Leg yesterday afternoon were good. [emoji106]
And enjoyed Olivia Rodriguez bringing on Lily Allen to dedicate ‘**** you’ to the American Supreme Court.

Idles and Sleaford mods superb. Caught Billie eilish last night and while it ain't my thing she was pretty good.
Oh my goodness! Just reliving billie eilish from last night, what a talented lass. Such a wide range of music.
I’m a bit dreading it. He’s 80 and it’s not easy to have the vocals to fill a huge gig like that for 20 year olds. I hope he has guests on with him and his amazing set list should see the crowds help him out as well. [emoji1696][emoji1696][emoji1696] he can still do it.[emoji51]

It's excruciatingly middle class
Am trying to enjoy the McCartney set but am not, I guess he is an 80 year old man now!? 🤷🏻*♂️
Glastonbury crowd just stood still saying ‘c’mon tae **** Paul, get to the good stuff’.

McCartneys drummer, Abe Laboriel Jnr has saved the night for me.
Understandably, the band have carried Paul through because his vocals and energy are no longer what they used to be, but the guy on the skins, a breath of fresh air. Bang on the rhythm, playing up to the crowd, singing his heart out and delivering the energy when required.
Yep, he deserves praise and has stolen the show for me too
McCartney was involved in so many belters that he should be able to throw them up in the air and come up with one of the best set lists ever, dunno how he's managed to balls it up unless he just plays what he wants to play
I actually think McCartney has been decent, could have been a lot better to be fair but you can’t expect him to just play Beatles songs

The old gag, "is Ringo the best drummer in the world, hell no, he ain't even the best drummer in the Beatles!"
Praising Abe Loriel and on walks Dave Grohl 🤣
I'm loving him.
The guests!
I was pretty surprised at Grohl and Springsteen but my minds blown that he brought out John Lennon.[emoji102]

What a finale, brilliant replay of the Abbey Road competing guitar solos. The voice isn't what it was but all in all that was one epic set
Absolutely banging set from Grohl onwards. Should have left out the first 45 minutes.
Declan Mckenna is more than decent. Can't say I knew much about him at all but I'm fair enjoying his set.
Legend slot time with Diana Ross . I always enjoy these, the cheesier the better. :greengrin
If you aren’t watching Jack White you should be. Superb. :greengrin
Only the band The Beatles could have been.
I enjoyed Macca last night and I thought he absolutely bossed it. Prior I'd been thinking of watching it through my fingers, concerned what he'd be like but that was actually a hell of a show, very memorable. A majority of the songs being Beatles numbers seemed about right to me. I guess that many of the songs featured earlier on in the set were solo and Wings stuff etc. Shewd move I thought as it definitely went up a few notches as the show went on and built up a lot of momentum to a storming finish.
Vic Reeves on the Park stage just now pretending to be Jarvis Cocker. Well that’s how I’m seeing it. :greengrin
Sort of like this.....Attachment 25979
Kendrick Lamar very very impressive.
Pet Shop Boys excellent as well.
Pet Shop Boys were superb. I’ve enjoyed a lot of acts this weekend but PSB showed why they are, IMO, one of the greatest bands ever.
Agreed, I watched it from start to finish. Neil Tennant is an excellent performer.
They were a bit before my time but my dad always used to play their CDs in the car when I was young and I remember liking their music even then.
They have some great tunes but it takes a real talent to also put on a great live performance and they smashed it.
Bicep finished things off perfectly for me 🙂
I stuck their set on last night with the intention of falling asleep whilst it was on.
Unfortunately it was absolutely brilliant and I stayed awake watching it and thoroughly enjoying it to the very end.
Today's probably not going to be one of my more productive days at work.
