Several hundred? Really?
Cant have been there from 2008 to 2014 if this was too much
I’ve only seen one person saying they won’t renew
Be surprised if we don’t hit the same amount as last season at least. With the added bonus of us potentially getting back in adding another 1k or so on top & European football.
I think we’ll get around 12/12.5k
Several hundred? [emoji1787][emoji1787]
For the record I’ve not seen 1.

We’d have set a new record if we’d won the cup on Saturday.
To have already sold 8k, in the circumstances, is outstanding. Safe to say sales will be slowing down. On the bright side, gives me a better chance in any ballots.
Naturally, people tend to make impulsive statements like this after a disappointing defeat, especially given the manner of the one on Saturday.
Guarantee most will never have had the intention of purchasing a ST or, after a few weeks of cooling off, will come round and purchase one again.
I'm absolutely gutted about Saturday. As is pretty much every fan I know.
But I get paid on Thursday and I'll be renewing mine along with two who I usually go with.
It was as rank a performance as you'll likely see in a cup final. Not going to stop backing Hibs because of it though.
I renewed before the semi final. What happened on Saturday would have made no difference if I still had to renew, I would be doing it anyway. It would be an insult to my 45 plus years of going to Easter Road for me to chuck it on the back of that ***** ...... it wasn't even bad enough to register on the Richter scale of Hibs cup final disasters, it was so tepid it doesn't even deserve the accolade 'disaster' .... it was just pathetic.
Anyone threatening not to renew after a semi, a final and third place shouldn't renew. They should away and **** over the thought of the Euro Super League.
Only seen one so far, however he was advising all hibs fans not to renew as according to him it will lead to more of the same gash we witnessed on Saturday, way to grow the club eh?
Can’t deem getting to semi final and final as an achievement .. FFS it was the worst semi- final line-ups in years and we couldn’t win a cup. But I suppose we were playing St.Johnstone so maybe we should celebrate it after all we set-up to stop them playing.
Saturday was utterly terrible and one of the worst results in our history
I smell.....???
I never understand how people can place any weight behind this kind of thing.
People say things in the heat of the moment. Then they calm down and realise it was a bit daft. I've said I'm not going back in my head at least 500 times watching Hibs over the years. I've followed through on the threat once when I chose not to use my ST for a game v Dundee Utd under Fenlon. Hibs won and I just felt stupid for missing it.
The people saying this will either be back next season or had no intention of ever buying a ST anyway. There may be a couple of exceptions to that but they will be a tiny minority.
I know of 6 that are not renewing.simply financial, they can't justify paying for something they might not get to use. Especially coming from fife, they're thoughts are if it comes to a ballot ,ST holders from Edinburgh will get preference over us fifers.for what its worth,my family & friends are from fife. And we have all renewed,
which is fairy nuff. Despite the title tho the OP is on about the specific scenario relating foregoing renewing due to the performance of the team on Saturday... not due to finances or likelihood of attending in person. I’d be weary of speculating on priority given to locals that’s a bit of an odd one.
Yeah we were on track for fantastic numbers if we’d won on Saturday. Whilst as you say things will slow down most folk that were going to get one and just haven’t done it yet still will by the time the season comes around.
The euros gives everyone a chance to not have to think about Hibs too much then I think people will just be excited to get back in to the stadium again come July
Can only speak from my point of view but out of the 3 that had season tickets last year I am the only one that has renewed, the other 2 are not , both are happy at the league position but not the football and the cup final became a no from both .
They may have said it in a heat of the moment but time will tell.
It’s been such a tough season for those having to put up with the style of football that has us 3rd top scorers in the league and with the 3 best defence. It’s not what we expect having all been used to us playing like Brazil for so many decades ... the panache we saw under Calderwood, Fenlon and Butcher seems a lifetime away.
Everyone is entitled to make their own decision and have their own reasons, but some of the guff I’ve read, particularly on twitter about the hardships of watching this particular team is just mind blowing.
From my sample of 1 tweet I can confirm 100% of people are buying season tickets. Good news for hibs. Looking forward to the 6 billion seater stadium
God forbid we finish 4th next season and don't get to Hampden or Europe. We'd be as well asking for voluntary liquidation. Just shut the doors.
I could only dream of a team that finished 3rd every year and gets to the majority of semi finals in cups. I’m also sure it would be dream land for Ron. If we can replace Aberdeen for the next 3/4 years it will be a huge turnaround for our club.
:faf: So true, we will need to win cups and finish 2nd at least to satisfy some folk. :agree:
I've said it before, but it is worth repeating. We need to finish regularly in a European spot, the money is good and gives you the chance to build a stronger squad.
It's simple really.
People not renewing because Hibs lost a Scottish Cup Final are doing the right thing in my opinion.
If they feel that finishing third and getting to Hampden on a regular basis isn't good enough then they are quite rightly better off pursuing other things in life.
Meantime those that are renewing lets get going again next season.
I have renewed my ST for the 43rd consecutive year. I was never not going to renew and I have pretty much done so out of habit over the decades to support the club financially.
Looking at the bigger picture, we have progressed over the last few seasons and the Manager and players deserve credit for finishing 3rd and reaching 3 semi finals and a final in the last 2 seasons.
What I would say however, is the manner of the defeat in 2 of those semi finals and particularly the final was completely unacceptable. Outside Rangers and Celtic, winning is never guaranteed in these games but desire, effort and determination should be a given.
There has clearly been something wrong in the way the Manager prepared his team both tactically and mentally for these big games. His after match comments on Saturday were pathetic. He's taken the plaudits for finishing 3rd but he also needs to be honest and say when he and the players have got it badly wrong, as on Saturday. Being in denial is a flawed strategy.
If he can sort the problem, we will continue to progress as a club, which is what we all want. I hope he succeeds.
If Hibs (and any other Scottish club for that matter) aren't fighting our corner to get us back in the grounds ASAP, then why should we fork out hundreds of pounds for another season of streaming?
Dave Cormack is about the only figure in Scottish football I've seen come out swinging and trying to get something done. The rest of them seem happy sitting on their hands and accepting our cash.
Damn, I wish someone could have told me at the end of seasons 79/80, 97/98 and 13/14 that I could give up my season ticket if we finished 3rd and lost in the Scottish cup final. For the last 50 years I've seen worse football at Hibs than this season (obviously a few years were better). I look forward to hear you all groaning and moaning when we come 4th next year and get knocked out of the cups in the second round.
Ok, I agree that we could have set up to be more damaging, but when you've been punched 3 times this season already, I guess you may be a little more guarded. It's the lack of effort and fight that's wound me up.
I don't agree it's one of the worst in our history, I'd say it's not even in the top 20! Unless you word it "It's the worst result in the history of me watching Hibs" :)
Just renewed our four and my Laddie has also purchased one
I'm 90% likely to renew. Nothing to do with losing the final but I want to see some kind of indication that I'll actually be allowed into the ground at some time before the end of the year.
I’ll be renewing for me and my son. I also haven’t seen anyone claiming that they won’t be renewing on social media due to the cup final result.
That being said, I think had we turned up and won then we would have seen a boost in st sales of 1-2k, which is pretty frustrating.
I'm still waiting for the barrage of tweets about not renewing season tickets.
Like many others, results in cups, league positions or what actual league we happen to be in play no part in my renewal thought process. I support Hibernian it’s as simple as that, renewal is automatic.
I just want to put on record that I’ll not be going to the MK Dons match in the unlikely event that I’ll not get offered a ticket ;)
In Summary
So we’re discussing people not renewing due to being peeved at the cup loss - when no one can actually point to the folks that said they were not renewing. In the process folks have said they are not renewing but for other reasons.
And the needle returns to the start of the song
and we all go on like before,
And we’ll all be Hibees tonight,
and Hibees tomorrow :)
cos nothing every happens...
This happened at Brighton earlier in the season when we lost a couple of games on the bounce.
People declaring that they're giving up their season ticket, 'it's a disgrace' etc etc (when we've narrowly lost), conveniently forgetting how rubbish we've been for pretty much two decades.
It's now known as 'bed-wetting' down here and if you see such a post, the most popular reply is www.plasticsheets.com.
I renewed before the cup final and would have after it because I am a supporter. :agree::agree::agree:
Doesn’t mean I’m not still hacked off with that performance though. :grr::grr::grr:
Any numbers on take up so far please?
