Pray for Cosgrove
If it was career-threatening, I'd understand the concern. We Had Boyle, Porteous, Mallan & Newell out for months last season, there was no tears on the Dons forum. Players get injured, it's part & parcel.
A mate of mine told me Middlesbrough were after him, probably scuppered now.
Cormack was saying only last week that they would try and cash in on him. Not going to happen now. From a Hibs point of view it's not a bad thing but never nice seeing a player get a bad injury
Big dirty hammer thrower who fouls constantly and plays for a rival club picks up run of the mill injury. Sorry but I won't be crying in to my cornflakes about this one.
The worry is with contact only recently introduced for players we could see a lot of early injuries from poor tackles

No surgery required, don’t wish any player an injury but if it hinders Aberdeen and he recovers then all good.
We should be aiming to have a team that can beat our rivals fair and square, at their full strength. It’s bad chat to be happy that an opposition player is injured. You don’t need to be the Dalry Lama to know that is bad Karma man.
They've got Rangers & Celtic in their first 4 games, then a trip to ER. Great chance for us to open a gap early.
A 23 year old footballer who plays for one of our biggest rivals is out injured for a few months whilst continuing on full pay, are we supposed to feel sorry for him?
He's got a knee injury that he'll most probably make a full recovery from by the end of the year, in the meantime one of our biggest rivals are deprived of the services of their top goalscorer, I'm personally delighted.
He plays a contact sport, injuries are part and parcel of the game. He's hardly been diagnosed with a terminal illness.
:dunno:
Are we going to have a thread for every opposition player that gets injured this season?
He was injured in a friendly against Hibs helping both teams prepare for a season in very unusual circumstances during a global pandemic. It looks like he and Aberdeen had hoped he would get a decent move soon. I think a little sympathy is no bad thing.
And no I don't expect a thread for every injured player
I think KingPat4 started the thread as a wee bit sympathy for a young laddie injured against Hibs is showing some sporting spirit (remember, football is just a sport).
You could have ignored the thread.
You could have just said "aw the best to the boy."
Instead you take time out to post that.
Mains out for them on Saturday too.
I hope cosgrove never plays or scores for Aberdeen again as he is a very good striker and goal scorer. They’ve said they’re doing 1 in 1 out so whilst injured they won’t be able to replace him as nobody will take an injured player. Our main rivals for 3rd main goal scorer is injured as is their back up? Good news imo
The equivalent of Doidge being out for us. Big blow.
Nothing against him but it seems strange to be sending out best wishes to an opposition team's player just because he's going to be out of action for a few months.
If he had some life threatening illness, or had been sold to Hearts, I could maybe understand it.
I hope more Aberdeen and rangers and Celtc players get injured.
Another way of looking at it is if Aberdeen, Killie, Motherwell, et al were firing on full cylinders someone other the stickies might pinch second spot.
In fact a fairly workmanlike Dundee Utd with dubious time-wasting tactics pinched a League title as everyone was taking points from each other.
They’ll get humped on Saturday with or without Cosgrove. And hopefully they get humped every week after that.
we've managed to finish 3rd x3 in the last 30 years, 4th x3 in the same period, huge under achievers for a club our size, i do admire the confidence though :greengrin
Makes it even less likely Aberdeen will get their ridiculous valuation of him. Was it £4M they were quoting? Means he can't score goals for a few months.
I don't wish the guy any harm as an individual but I'm not going to be crying myself to sleep tonight either.
Believe it or not it's actually 6 top 4 finishes in the top flight in 42 years. Although a slightly better stat is that we've finished top 4 on 5 occasions in the past 20 years with 3 of them in the Championship so 5 top 4 finishes out of a possible 17 in the top flight.
Still not great though and we've finished in the bottom 6 8 times (including last season) during the same period.
Pretty devastating for them Curtis Main out with a thigh strain too.
Big ask for Bruce Anderson to step forward! Or maybe McGinn up front?
He’s back for them this week apparently.
Didn't Bruce Anderson go to Ayr Utd on loan.
