Fantastic news, legend
It’s not inconceivable he could end up being at the top of the appearances list by the time he retires, he’s already near the top 10.
Delighted with that. If he sees out that contract he’ll have been involved in 16 seasons with the first team [emoji122][emoji122][emoji122]

Great news.
Gordon Smith with 636. He’d need to play nearly every game until he’s 34/35 to reach that. He’s 12 games away from knocking Erich Schaedler out the top 10 and by the end of next season he could be in the top 5.

Really, I’m surprised at that as he played for Dundee and Hearts as well didn’t he? (If I’m wrong and he never played for Hearts I’ll need to hang my head in shame)
I would have thought Stanton as well but again his time at Celtic I would have thought may have pushed him down the list.
Would Gordon Rae be up there too or am I imagining that?
Anywhere I can see the top 10?
My hero.
Good news. Another Mr Hibs, great professional and an example to any kids coming through.

Fantastic 💚
It is amazing to think that Lewis is the most successful Hibs player as a Hibs player in winning honours in the last 60 years. 2 major and one minor and hopefully more to come.
Absolutely brilliant news. One of the most underrated and under appreciated players in the country.
Very happy with this news, Lewis is a great guy and a cracking player.
An all time great of the club.

Check out this website. The Hibs info is very good.
Lewis has had a fantastic career at Hibs and I think he’s had the best years these past few seasons. He’s the epitome of hard work, skill and dedication.
I’ve never met the man, but by all accounts he is a thoroughly decent guy. I’m delighted that he has signed up again, no one deserves it more than Lewis.
Hope he sees out his football career at Hibs and continues on in a coaching role. He is playing consistently at a high level and clearly looks after himself. If Strachan etc can play a high energy game well into their 30s then no reason Lewis can't. Some good news after a poor week last week.
Well done to him; a true Hibs man :agree:
Superb news, so rare to get a 1 club player and his attitude and professionalism epitomises what we want from a club legend, very happy with this. Also good to see the club getting signings like this and some youngsters done nice and early instead of late on in their contracts.
Assuming he plays the majority of the games for the next couple of seasons, this will surely put him up there maybe top 5 appearances for the club! What a legend, fully deserved of his contact.
I’ve been a critic of Lewis in years gone by. He’s always been a solid reliable player but in terms of adding to his game in the way of an attacking threat, I always thought we could have brought in a more forward thinking type to give him competition. I’m not saying I ever wanted shot of him, far from the case. I’ve always appreciated the job he does and as he’s matured I’m happy to admit he’s only got better and he’s even added to that part of his game that I thought was lacking. He does seem to be an ever present though and hasn’t had much in the the way of competition for a place over all those years, we’ll thats the way it seems anyway. Very happy he’s signed an extension, absolute legend and such a nice guy.
Great news. Extremely consistent players and I don’t think he has even had a runny nose in his career.

Are players allowed a double testimonial if they reach 20 years of service?
He really has been through it all, hasn't he? If he was to write the story of his career it would encompass all the highs and lows of being involved with Hibs. There probably isn't a period that is quite an indicative of the rollercoaster of following our club.
Could even go a wee bit further, played in three Scottish Cup finals and two League Cup finals.
I don't think anyone can grump at his new deal, his service to the club has been exemplary and is a role model for any young professional to follow. He gets warmed up for training long before others even turn up and is a great guy.
However, I would have to say that I hope Hibs sign another quality player to take over from Lewis. This isn't knocking him it's merely saying it's a position we need strengthening.
Well deserved. Great servant.
Well deserved, Mr Hibernian.
Pleased for him more than anything else.
Makes the best of his talent by working as hard as possible and is never injured.
Phenomenal.
So pleased for my Bairn and well done Hibs.!
I bump into him quite often in Dunfermline, and when i'm with my boy on a Sunday playing football as he coaches his Kids team. A nicer guy you could never meet and he takes an interest in my boy. Plus he's a model professional and a fantastic footballer.
Great news, delighted for Lewis. Plenty of time for him to win another couple of trophies.
Brilliant news. Lewis has always given his best for the club and works hard to improve his game. His consistency is quite incredible and level fitness unsurpassed.
The term legend can be a bit overused but Lewis qualifies on every count.
That's fantastic.
Lewis and PH are the mainstays of our squad and we're lucky to have them.
Mr Hibs
The epitomy of a professional footballer and a joy to witness.
The guy is without question a legend and I'm so pleased to see him being rewarded for his 100% effort, fight, consistency and commitment to the Hibs cause.
He is a minimum default 7 every game.
:flag::flag:
He's had plenty of competition, just over the last 6-7 years, no one has been able to best him over an extended period of time.
He needs 618 to break into the top 3 of all time appearances (P. Stanton on 617) a further 195 appearances - unless we go deep into both cup competitions and European competition, I can't see that happening.
I hope he is here as long as he wants though and fingers crossed he manages to add another medal or two before he retires.
Well deserved. Mr dependable.
Love Mr Hibs :flag:
When was the last time hibs went abroad and it didn't end up in a poor run afterwards or something kicking off behind closed doors?
Absolutely fantastic news !
Excellent News Fully deserved and Lennon giving him a huge vote of confidence
Well deserved.
Yet another manager recognises how good a player Stevenson is.
When the time comes and he calls time on his playing career I hope he gets the recognition he deserves. I think naming the training centre after him would be fitting, as his dedication, application and attitude is something every youngster who walks through the door there should aspire to.
Real life living legend.
Mr Hibs
Favourite ever Hibs player.
Mr Reliable, take a bow son, one of our own etc etc
Interestingly, he has played considerably more matches against hearts than any other opponent. 37 matches against hearts...next most is Rangers at 25.
2021 is a weird way to spell “For life”
Honest question which may have been answered before, who did he support growing up? Makes absolutely no difference to my opinion of him just interested
In 10 years time we'll be saying we wish we had a Lewis Stevenson.
