Did anyone get tickets for Peter Kay? I got 2 in Sheffield... in July 2024!
I'm off to see Scottish up-and-comers Parliamo play a sold-out show at Oran Mor on Friday evening, ahead of them supporting The View in December.
I actually taught one of their members last year who was pursuing a Masters and supervised their dissertation, and I'm looking forward to catching up with them and see them perform live to a capacity crowd - they were kind enough to offer me a spot on their guest-list.
Starting to see quite a few of the Northern Hemisphere bands returning to Australia. Saw Idles last week and they were every bit as good as I remember them... a good 3 and a half years since I've spent the bulk of a gig in the pit and jeez was my body feeling it the next day. Had Enter Shikari the week after and they were certainly far from their early peak.
Got a good run coming up over the next few months though... Pixies, Nick Cave and Warren Ellis, Arctic Monkeys, Chvrches, Fontaines DC, Billy Bragg, Future Islands, Ash... and of course The Proclaimers.
I'm even tempted to take my chances to see Elton John and Sting (seperately) down here; but I'm not sure I can swallow $300 a pop just to tick them off the list.
Yard Act at the QMU tonight. Last I've got planned this year, as it stands.
Swithering over tickets for Iggy Pop/ Blondie at Crystal Palace next summer purely for the Gen X/ Sex Pistols hybrid ‘Generation Sex’ supporting. They’ll be brilliant, watched the set they done in LA a few years back on YouTube umpteen times and I’m hoping they’ll do a few gigs on their own when they’re here, as Steve Jones rarely ventures to the UK these days so he’ll surely no be coming over just for one gig. Might even get a bit of a Sex Pistols reunion with Glen Matlock playing in Blondie now!
Not got tickets yet but planning on doing Motley Crue at Hampden next summer and have Cockney Rejects next Saturday at la belle angele. 999 also just announced Bannermans next October which I’ll no doubt be at too.
Got two tickets for a week on Saturday at Manchester. Night two of the entire tour. Would have tried for night one but Bolton v Bristol Rovers got moved to that night. Won’t lie, I felt a little smug at 10.01am on the day of open sale when I got straight through for tickets on Eventim while everyone else was fighting with Ticketmaster. Albeit made it more frustrating that I’d wasted half a day fighting with the priority sale on O2 and Three!
2 weeks till the Proclaimers at the Playhouse
Horse, The Same Sky anniversary tour at Perth theatre tomorrow night. What a voice.
Gary Delaney next Thursday.
Not the most PC comedian in the world.
Niteworks, tonight in Galashiels
Not "upcoming" but I was in Glasgow last night to see Ozric Tentacles and Gong. Great fun, but very loud.
Going to the Royal Festival Hall in London on Friday. A celebration of Sir Peter Blake with a line up featuring Chrissie Hynde, Roger Daltrey, Noel Gallagher, Paul Weller and Madness headlining. With a bit of luck Macca himself might rock up aswell.
Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott at the Hydro on Friday (Billy Bragg supporting). £30 a ticket…..bargain!
Just booked tickets for Southside Johnny in London next July.
Maybe not of much interest to most, (except Brog :greengrin ) but read on....
They're playing on the 7th July. Springsteen is in London, doing gigs on the 6th and the 8th. They have a long history of rocking up to each other's gigs when they can.
So... any London-based posters who couldn't get tickets for Bruce, this might be an option :greengrin
Disclaimer.... he might not turn up, but you will still have a helluva night
Couple of tickets just come available on Ticketmaster for Proclaimers @ Playhouse on Saturday 10th December
