Good to see Jay Cutler back in the NFL! He's a marmite player not to everyone's taste but I like him if you've seen his miced up YouTube clips he's actually a funny guy.

Teddy Bridgewater tweeted this: "I can sense God is about to perform another miracle in my life."
When NFL players say stuff like this do they actually believe it or are they just putting stuff like this out because they think that's what people want to hear?
I hate jay Cutler because I spent a fortune on a authentic players issue CUTLER #6 Broncos jersey after hearing he would be our franchise QB for years to come. Then he decides to throw all his toys out the pram and demand a trade. Spent so much on that Jersey I cant bear to throw it out. its up in the attic.
Thanks jay.
Watching Christian McCaffery highlights. Looks a bit like a Barry Sanders type, superfast but he's very lightweight for a whole season of getting pounded by Nfl defenses.
That's my first look at the overall #2 pick Bears new QB Mitchell Trubisky. Very impressive performance against the Broncos secondary, I think he'll be around for a long time and will probably be the Bears starter.
Compared to Glennon and Sanchez, Trubisky actually has the potential to be a decent starter in Chicago, but John Fox is right - one decent pre-season game isn't going to land him the job.
Having said that, when Glennon throws a pick 6 with his first possession and does bugger all with the remainder of his time on the field, and Sanchez continues to be one of the worst QBs I've ever seen in the NFL, you have to wonder how much longer it might be before he gets his shot.
Still, it's hard to judge anything on pre-season, as most teams don't play ANY of their starters - some of the players we had out against Jacksonville last night were right at the bottom of their respective depth charts.
Ezekiel Elliot suspended for 6 games - does anyone know the specifics to what happened? May well be reduced but that really could be a season ruiner for the Cowboys.
At a beer festival in Copenhagen. I thought I was having the best time ever. Then my starting RB gets suspended and flex WR gets traded. And it's ~£12 for 400mls. What a life.
I'm getting quite into Last chance U now on Netflix. Did anyone feel like I did and ending up wanting them to lose? :faf: an arrogant institution buying success with washed up primadonnas only interested in their own careers? If I was that 2-6 mississippi delta college losing 48-0at halftime while they're taking TO's and rubbing our noses in it, I'd have been wanting to start brawling with them too! And that head coach:grr: what a hun face.
are you talking about Season 1 or 2?
on Season 2 I did as well, the only guy I wanted to succeed was the QB. The big guy that went in a huff every 2 mins got a spot at Penn St. Just shows how much these guys are pandered to. I wonder what will come of them when they leave college? Their coach is a bit of an ass as well.
That teacher Miss Wagner deserves a medal putting up with all that.
Love that show. Season 1 I liked the guys on the team alot. Season 2 not so much. The coach is a D1ck throughout though.
First episode of Hard knocks was great. Winston comes over so well. Even as a Saints fan I liked him.
I love the show, but I can't stand Buddy Stephens. Next season they're not following EMCC, pretty sure they will be following Independent CC.
Season 2 isn't a patch on series 1 IMO. I'm not interested in the religious storyline at all. And the players!??
The Elliot suspension fallout is getting pretty dirty. Journalists have been getting leaked information about the character of the accuser and the NFL have accused the NFLPA of leaking the information.
The NFL have said this amounts to victim shaming and is one of the reasons many victims don't come forward in the first place.
The players association have responded by accusing the NFL of trying to deflect attention away from the investigation and it's failings on player discipline.
There's a lot of aspects of this situation that make me feel uncomfortable, but I do have to agree with the NFL, the information that is leaking about the accuser is a clear attempt to publicly discredit her and get the public on Elliot's side. Even if she had made it all up, the investigation and the information during the basis of his appeal should be in secret IMHO.
Obviously Elliot's management team see current lucrative sponsorships and future deals going up in smoke [emoji100] no sympathy at all. Hopefully the league upholds the ban to send out a clear message

Would there be this much of a reaction if it wasn't Ezekiel Elliot and less well known player? I doubt it.
Elliot's clearly guilty. Hiding behind that beard [emoji85]

Another preseason week goes by and more players protesting during the national anthem. Frankly I find it absurd that the anthem gets played before every game preseason or not, 🤷🏻*♂️

Bought game pass at the start of the month and madden arrives with 15%off code
Looks like Julian Edelman has torn his ACL last night :no way:
Confirmed: Out for the season
We have plenty of weapons still, no doubt, but you can't replace an Edelman.
Amazing how one key player can alter your season expectations.
Matthew Stafford about to become the highest paid player in NFL history,Quite staggering

Hes not even in the top ten QBs in the league IMO. Crazy, but then again Baltimore made Flacco the highest paid player couple of seasons back and he was the same.
Josh McCown will start for the Jets week one. I couldn't remember much about him (there's other McCowns in the league), so I looked him up. he's 38, has played for seven different teams mostly as backup, only started occasionally, had stints in the UFL, has a passer rating of under 80, only got a few preseason snaps behind the Jets two young QBs, one of whom had a disaster (Hackenburg,) and the other one was seriously injured.
I genuinely feel sorry for the Jets.
They've suffered now for years of poor coaching and dreadful off-field management, and this off-season has almost been like a parody sketch.
They have a hardcore fan base, and a proud history and deserve a lot better than some of the stuff they've been served up in recent years.
I know they're the source of a lot of jokes/banter, and that they're one of our biggest rivals, but I'd love to see a strong Jets team as part of a much stronger AFC East.
The Jets and Jags are deliberately tanking this season. I'd be pissed if I supported them.
In regards to Stafford, the Lions don't have much choice but to pay up. Finding a franchise QB is looking harder every year. Unless you seriously luck out with a Brady/Romo type.

Anybody else seen the MMQB mailbag column today? They've got an email there from a Hibee!!
Browns release cornerback Joe Haden who then promptly signs with the steelers. Good player on his day and iirc his first game will be against Cleveland [emoji85][emoji23]

Booked up to go to the Seahawks-Redskins game! First time going to Seattle, can't wait!
Buckeyes win:aok:
Lots of pace in your receivers and RBs last night - they'll cause teams problems.
Your secondary look weak though - Indiana picked them apart in the first half and continued getting success in the second half.
We start on Saturday against Florida, which will be a challenging proposition!
Haven't watched it yet because of the early/late kick off time. Was planning on watching it tonight but forgot the Scotland game was on so will probably just check out the highlights when I get in. Probably flick in and out of your game tomorrow to see what's happening, hopefully be a good game with a Florida win and you guys playing catch up already :greengrin
I didn't watch your game live or anything - just clocked extended highlights this morning.
I didn't even realise Scotland were playing tonight...such is the depth of my interest in football at the minute :greengrin
It's alright - if Florida do manage to beat us, we'll make it up by humping you lot in Ann Arbor on November 25th :greengrin
Well pleased with that trade! Jets send DT Sheldon Richardson to Hawks for WR Jermaine Kearse and a 2nd round pick in 2018.
I liked Kearse, local kid undrafted but I think we got the best of that deal.
#1'Bama against #3Florida State tomorrow at 1pm on BT sport:aok:
Should be a close game coming up...want Michigan to win this one.
Great start to the game, Florida D looks very strong, two well matched teams. Controversial call on 4th down at the goaline goes against Michigan, 3-3 after the opening drives.
The Florida QB is 6'5 and the Michigan QB is 6'6
Is that a record?
Since when is it a penalty to spin the ball?
Pick 6 now 10-10
Back to back pick six lol, this is worse than me on madden.
A blocked punt now, college football is back! I just wish they showed that Texas game earlier.
It's ludicrous :agree:
17-13 to Florida at HT
Good game so far, I wonder how Florida would have done without all the suspensions though.
I'm a little surprised Michigan seem to be without a decent QB.
I wish they would cut the length of the game a bit though that took about an hour and a half!
I'm a little worried, not going to lie.
We've looked poor.
A classic game of two halves! Superb shutout in the second half from our D and the offense FINALLY got it going.
In other news, we've (New England) traded Jacoby Brissett to the Colts for Phillip Dorsett (WR, and #1 pick in 2015).
I love football. Even if NC state got beat.
LSU shut out BYU 27-0 at the Superdome limiting BYU to -5 yards rushing [emoji1322][emoji1322][emoji1322] #GeauxTigers [emoji197]

This is cool. Probably the one position on the field where its possible to be as effective as everyone else:aok:

Brock Osweiler released by Browns and signed by Denver. Joe Webb (who?) Signed by the Bills as backup QB. Colin Kaepernick still unsigned...
I know that Osweiler is a cheap option (Browns have to pay over £15m of his £16m salary this season, but seriously with the D Denver has and players like Thomas and Sanders they'd have a serious shot at the Superbowl this year with Kaepernick. Peyton Manning managed to take them to a superbowl while not being able to throw a pass over 10 yards accurately...
Yeah, I'm aware we have kind of discussed this to death, but it really makes me angry on his behalf. Great article below, which points out that when and if a team does sign him it shouldn't be held up as a symbol of progressive, modern attitudes just because they're doing what is normal behaviour. 34 relative nobodies signed at QB this off-season already remember.
https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/t...in-kaepernick/
And with apologies to Gatecrasher...one of the great performances ever. I still remember watching it amazed.

Yeah I may have mentioned it a couple of times before.... It makes me angry as well, he's by no means elite, but he's certainly better than at least 10 of the starting QBs in the league, even based on last season which was poor by his standards. That playoff run was incredible and he almost won the 49ers a superbowl.
It's a disgrace that he's not got a team IMHO and all the pundits who defend the teams who don't sign him with daft excuses are so weak and spineless to not just come out and say why he's not getting signed.
