When out for a drive today a song came on the radio and I've been listening to quite a bit of the band today .

Newly discovered Sex Pistols soundboard recording from July, 1997 in Sweden.
Sounds great, even Sid is doing his job.

Heard this on the radio this morning. Snowy White, former guitarist with Pink Floyd and Thin Lizzy. Echoes of Mark Knopfler, Alvin Lee and Eric Clapton. The guitar work on this track is terrific.

The YouTube algorithm chucked David Gilmour's new track out at me last night, "Between two points", David on guitar with his daughter Romany singing on it. Really nice relaxing music with a typically great DG solo closing the track off. It is off his new album due out later this year. I am a bit of a fan boy when it comes to DG so you'll only get positive notes from me about any of his music but I think it is worth checking the track out.
Unfortunately health issues prevent me from travelling atm. The closest I’ll get to DG this year is going to see Aussy Pink Floyd later this year. I know what you mean with tickets but it seems to have turned into the norm, having to take a second mortgage to pay for a gig!!
This is the closest I got to him at the Royal Albert Hall. Some guy's fist, lots of lasers and Benedict Cumberbatch doing the second vocal on Comfortably Numb.

Sitting here putting together a playlist of Gerry Rafferty songs. So many brilliant ones to choose from …….. forgot how brilliant he was ( I didn’t really but every time I return to his music reminds me.)
Idles - Tangk. Took a few listens to get into this but enjoying it a lot now.
Kneecap - Fine art. Irish rap, it's better than you would think!
Soft play - heavy jelly, really enjoying this one
Camera Obscura's first album for a long time and it's excellent.
Currently listening to white light, white heat, white trash by Social Distortion.

I'm sure there was a thread for music recommendations but I can't find it so I'll start this one.
Pale Jay - Low end love songs.
It's not a classic album but it has a lovely groove.
I had a listen to their album and thought they sounded pretty good. Definitely influenced by cock sparrer and heard hints of menace, Angelic Upstarts in there too.
Since it came out last month I I've been playing the Zatopeks new album, "loitering and sauntering" to death. My favourite album of 2024 so far.

New band called Gurriers really good album.
Been listening a lot to Fontaine’s DC.
I knew Deek Allen for a short while when he lived around Portobello, I hung around that area with a few skinheads and spoke to him regularly as he had not long formed Oi Polloi and we were starting up a band and they wanted us to hook up with them to support in local gigs, unfortunately we got no further than aimlessly thrashing around on **** kit purchased from Bostons second hand shop on Leith Walk. My bass send 240 volts through my arms and the guitarists 100w amp blew up which almost set fire to St Martins church hall.
We called it a day after that 😁 Oi Polloi changed style to a more imo distasteful super charged Anarcho-punk and I think other than Deek they had a revolving door put on their tour bus as I think they went through around 50 or 60 band members, I preferred them as an Oi band but fair play as they still have a core following, not bad for a band who started in the 80s.
I vaguely remember Win with their beer advert song. On a down day I like to blast off some Blitz, particularly Voice of a Generation.
Ordered a repress of the Supersuckers "La Mano Cornuda" from sub pop last Wednesday and it arrived this morning, all the way from Seattle. That's quicker than most places in UK.
Been on the wants list for a long, long while as it's always been pretty hard to get.

Ezra Collective's new album, Dance, no one's looking, has got it going.
Getting ready to go out? Grab a drink, Cuba libre?, and play it loud.
I'm smiling listening to it now.
