6 midfielders should be enough for squad rotation and injuries. If we do bring in Xavier or try and get Triantis back, then I could see NMW and or Campbell going. Although, Campbell does give us Scottish representation for Europe.

None of those are a proper DM though, Campbell and MCGrath are better further forward, Levitt is a playmaker, Manneh and NMW more box2box, Triantis was the only one we had who looked like a proper DM and he may not be back. Newell is a sort of bit of all of these.
Triantis was much more bo to box imo. Especially the second half of the season. Levitt was the deepest sitting player. Newell usually plays the sitting role as well. Get neither could be described as a defensive midfielder, but we haven't really been playing one.
Not saying I don't think we should always be looking to improve by the way, we absolutely should, just a position we're pretty stacked in. Saying that, can see NMW moving on.
Been loaned out a lot, but he's been capped at every level below under 21 by England, which you would hope indicates under fulfilled potential. Considering he's been unable to nail down a place at Hull City who escaped relegation by the skin of their teeth that doesn't look great, but he played ( according to transfer market ) 16 times for Wycombe Wanderers after being loaned to them in February, and they made the EFL league one playoff final.
If it helps, there's a picture of him in his England kit where he looks a bit like Jude Bellingham :greengrin
Hearing rumours we will know what's going on regarding Triantis, Hoiliett & Bushiri by next weekend.
Hibs have offered all they can.
Deadlines have been set for all three.
If nothing doing moving on to other targets.
Hard to find any highlights on utube of him , can’t be bad when AIK were looking at him at one point and other championship clubs interested . One article I read says he can play CH or RB too …

id be delighted with all three, be very satisfied with two. If we lost all three I think that link with a wonderful second half of the season would be gone. All players can be replaced, but the team spirit and connection seemed special and still be a shame if it happens.
I don’t think Triantis will be back. Doubtful on Rocky, it has to be at the point where if he doesn’t take it we move on. Hoilett, I thought, would have been quite straightforward to deal with. Only thing I can see being and issue with him is that he’ll want to play every week even at his age. He won’t do that here.
Could well be that we’ve put that out there to alert Sunderland to the fact we are moving on if no decision made soon.
Mackay is a shrewd operator, I am sure we will be looking to ensure deals are over the line well before the European games.
Also Triantis is clearly unsettled going by the reasoning behind his withdrawal from the Australian squad. He’ll be wanting a quick resolution too.
Just a guy I know said a fee has been agreed with Sunderland, the transfer window is open today.
It's up to Triantis if he wants to hang around Sunderland or if his agent is weighing up other offers and decide later. It's really strange this window, open today but closes on 10 June for the World Club Cup, then opens again on 16 June.
Guess Hibs trying to get some stuff done early as we start European games earlier than hoped.
Interesting re the fee being agreed.
I saw this earlier on the Hibs Observer Facebook page and found it odd…

That is strange re the window - didn't realise that
I don't think that affects us though it's it's surely only our transfer window that matters when signing someone
Hope your right on the fee though - it would be a massive part of our team if we can get that done

Ohh...never saw that.
The guy that feeds this stuff to me can be a bit speculative. Out of all the stuff he has said over the years only a couple of them came to fruition. Nisbet from Dunfermline & Levitt from Dundee Utd are good examples.
Maybe there is something in this as Hibs Obsever does appear to be a bit like a mouthpiece for the club at times.
Aye, just read that too about the 1st June window.
“This applies only to the 20 national associations with clubs playing in the competition”
So our window will be;
“Monday 16 June and closing on Monday 1 September at 19:00 BST, a slightly earlier time than the traditional 23:00 BST close that has been used.”
Though with Sunderland now being a Premier League club maybe that would change things?
In David / Malky ,I trust.
I would be happy for us to spend most of our transfer budget on Triantis if that would be the case, every player has bad games, thought he was really good for the majority of the season and looked better than the season before.
I don't see why his performances would drop if he was to come back, 4 year deal with a plan to make some good money on him in the future.
I'm guessing the Hoilett will be down to family and would love Rocky to sign the deal ASAP.
