Lots of a stuff doing the round about vote rigging and suspicious activity around the bomb threats being called in by Russia etc.

DOGE coin has tripled in value in the last few days. There's nae way this hasn't been abused to make money.
I don’t really follow politics but after the last week or so I’ve been watching stuff on the US Election. How was Kamala Harris even running to be president? I’ve watched the CNN town hall and some other interviews when she had to answer real questions and she would just avoid them then start laughing and talking about how bad Donald Trump is. How was this even allowed to happen? No wonder more than half of America didn’t want her to be President.
This is entirely normal

President-elect Donald Trump's new defense secretary once said that he could not remember washing his hands in ten years in bizarre footage that has resurfaced following his appointment.
In 2019, Fox News host Pete Hegseth declared on air that he has not washed his hands for 10 years because "germs are not a real thing".
He said he believes that germs do not exist because they cannot be seen with the naked eye.
Trump is putting the lunatics in charge of every key department in the asylum.
I used to think 24 was ridiculous. Now I think it was understated.
Matt Gaetz, the man accused of child sex trafficking will be the new Attorney General. You could not make this.
An idiot from Fox News put in charge of the Department of Defence, which employs 2.1 million people and has an annual budget of a trillion dollars.
Florida Senator Marco Rubio as Secretary of State.
Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz (currently under investigation for child sex trafficking) as Attorney General, the chief law enforcement officer in the country.
Elon Musk to oversee efficiency in government.
Trump is treating it like an episode of The Apprentice. The only qualification he wants for cabinet jobs is total obedience to him.
Republicans expressing "shock" at some of these appointments. No idea why, it was well trailed that people were going to be hired on the sole basis of their loyalty to Trump. Most shocking thing for me is that the entire Trump family hasn't been offered cabinet posts. (Well, apart from Melania who with her radical leftist 'women's reproductive rights' ideas is clearly suffering a little bit from the woke mind virus.)
2023...
“There is an argument that it is ethnically targeted. Covid-19 attacks certain races disproportionately,” he said. “The people who are most immune are Ashkenazi Jews and Chinese.”
...
“We do know that the Chinese are spending hundreds of millions of dollars developing ethnic bioweapons and we are developing ethnic bioweapons,” he claimed. “They’re collecting Russian DNA. They’re collecting Chinese DNA so we can target people by race.”
Robert F Kennedy Jr (in NY Post)
2024...
Robert F Kennedy Jr announced as Trump's pick to lead US Health Department
In 2020, Hegseth volunteered as one of the up-to-25,000 National Guard troops authorized by the Pentagon to be put on active duty to protect the inauguration of President Joe Biden on January 20, 2021, but was removed from that mission because he was one of twelve soldiers "linked to 'right-wing militia groups,' or found to have 'posted extremist views online.'
Well according to many commentators, Musk helped Trump to win the election, so I guess that's part of what he brings to the table.
Stephen King has left X for Threads
I’m going to get slaughtered for this but yes some of his points are bonkers but some are decent.
I don’t follow him or know his policies in depth but what I’ve seen in the last couple of days, there is a few things I think will be good for America.
He says there is 1000 ingredients used in everyday American foods which ate banned in EU. Agreed. American food is full of crap.
Going to try and reduce ultra processed foods.
Fluoride in water. No idea about this one but I seen article today saying studies have shown consuming fluoride has links to lower IQ - they just voted Trump so there’s all the evidence you need!
He just criticised Trump saying his diet was poison.
I don’t know enough about his anti vax views to comments but I seen an interview where he said he agrees with vaccines which are tried and tested and essential.
One thing for sure, the next 4 years are going to be bonkers.
The US is home to the term pork barrel politics for a reason…the waste in their system is undoubtedly off the scale. So no surprise that someone, no matter how oddly, running on a ticket of ‘reform’ managed to get voted in.
The fact that it will be allegedly be done using sycophants to the benefit of those just elected clearly passed a lot of people by!
But absolutely the next four years will be a crazy rollercoaster accessed through a revolving door…few of Trumps named persons will be around for long if his last administration was any clue as to what will happen this time.
Seems to me that the phase ‘careful what you wish for’ has never been more apt than for those who voted Trump this time around, if only the impact would be limited to them….
Hitler said having a healthy diet was an essential thing. It's easy to focus on the things people say that are sensible and just ignore the bat**** vile stuff.
He said there is a link between vaccines and autism, this has been debunked. Vaccines save millions of lives per year polio, percussion, measles and diphtheria killed thousands every year in the UK now almost zero. The worrying thing is since covid there has been a rise in people not vaccinating their kids and obviously a rise in disease. Idiots like RFK have blood on their hands
He said covid vaccine was rushed, then that to the teams at moderna who had been developing them for two decades. They all had medical degrees that took years and spent decades specialising in immunology, he got his info from twitter.
He said there could be some truth in covid vaccines being used to prime microchips in the blood, ffs
Thinks water vapour from planes jet engines is the government dropping chemicals on the population, surely a day spent with the US airforce explaining to him in crayon will sort that
Says he's very dubious that HIV causes AIDS. People studying the disease their whole lives would like to see the idiots workings on that.
Says 5g causes cancer with zero proof or study.
People didn't care when he was a loon to be laughed at but he will have control over medicare which is the only medical coverage millions of poor Americans have
Trump has to be trolling the world. He seems to be deliberately putting forward the most controversial and unsuitable candidates he can find into cabinet jobs, as if he’s saying, “I can do anything I like.”
An alleged human trafficker at Justice.
A pro-Putin stooge in charge of intelligence
An anti-vax crackpot in charge of health
Elon Musk tasked with slashing budgets across government
A Guy from Fox News in charge of defence
Just a few headliners amongst many lunatics.
Perhaps daring the Senate to defy him, giving him an excuse to bypass the Senate. He already has the judiciary under control, without any effective parliament he really just needs the military on side to be in full dictator mode, doesn't he? Who's going to stop that? :dunno:
Indeed but he can use the process to at least get a few troublemakers (like Liz Cheney used to be) out of the GOP, or if there's a big enough rebellion start arguing that the Senate is preventing America Becoming Great Again and should therefore be ignored/shut down/whatever.
When the US was still a fledgling nation. Their constitution only came into effect 12 years before the beginning of the 19th century and shortly afterwards they began the massacre of millions of the indigenous population. When the first Europeans landed in the US, they were around 15 million inhabitants living there, by the end of the colonisation there were less than 300 thousand.
Did Ho Chi Minh not even write to the US asking for a hand removing the French?
I think USA, UK and some of western Europe has the largest proportion of self hating populous of any nation. A large amount of us hate our past. Do you think Italians, Greeks, Mongolians, Egyptians or Turks care that they slaughtered to conquer the known world. They put up statues to the conquerors we want them torn down. I'm not saying one is right or wrong, although it's so far away it's nothing to be either proud or ashamed of.
Almost every nation I've been to in 5 continents the population are more patriotic and superior than us.
While self-hate probably isn't too cool, an awareness of the benefits you reap from the subjugation of others is handy. In countries like the US, Argentina, Brazil, a lot of folk have no idea of what went on in the past, so it's probably good that more attention is being paid to a lot of stuff and you're always going to get an overreaction and then an over-counterreaction.
Depends on how far back you're willing to go, there's an argument to be made that Scotland was the inspiration behind the drive for American liberty.
None the less, my point still stands, the US was founded on genocide, grew prosperous through slavery, is driven by greed and brainwashes it's population from a young age. Is it then really so surprising that elects an egoistic like Trump as its leader?
“Trump is starting to ensure his dictatorship. Three Generals are on a list to be arrested for treason.
Flynn has been given authority to fire senior Generals if they don't swear an oath to Trump. Several will refuse.
Some have already taken evasive action.
Generals swear an oath to uphold the constitution .... not to the President.”
Read this earlier. He appears to be trying to make his mark early.
I can’t see him living long tbh…
Youtubers bit small sample. In this poll Germany and US were both similar for how many agreed that their nation is superior to all other nations 49% and 47% agreed, UK well behind with 32% agreeing, ten years old but I'd bet it is lower now. Over 1k polled in each nation
https://www.statista.com/statistics/219377/share-of-respondents-who-think-their-country-is-superior-to-others/
People agree with surveys that say what they agree with and vice versa. You say they voted Trump because they as a nation feel superior, then why did they vote Biden previously or did Obama walk it. In every poll the younger generation are less patriotic and the populous is more diverse, Trump did tremendous with Hispanic voters
UK went left, Germany will go right, Scotland went against the SNP. It was nothing to do with identity politics it was due to the economy and being an incumbent.
As has been said before it's no coincidence that for the first time ever, every democracatic nation in the world that had an election this year the incumbent heavily lost votes
History is good for learning from the past but shouldn’t be for judging people in the present.

I didn't say that they voted Trump because they as a nation feel superior, that's you're false interpretation of what I said and one of the reasons I normally stop discussing any particular subject with you, that and the fact you make up facts that are simply untrue, not every incumbent lost in democratic elections in 2024, that's simply not true.
You read what I wrote wrong that why it's hard discussing anything with you. If you read it again it says heavily lost votes.

"Every governing party facing election in a developed country this year lost vote share, the first time this has ever happened"
You said due to the US past it's brainwashing kids ect it's no wonder they voted Trump, doesn't really explain why they voted Biden over him or they voted Obama to huge wins. I think it's shoehorning in a reason the nation voted Trump but it falls apart when they didn't. The past has been a constant for America who they voted for has fluctuated

Exclusive: Woman told House Ethics panel she witnessed Gaetz having sex with minor, lawyer says - ABC News
An attorney representing two women who were witnesses in the House Ethics Committee's investigation into now-former Rep. Matt Gaetz is calling for the release of the committee's report, telling ABC News that one of his clients testified that she witnessed the Florida congressman having sex with a minor.
"My client testified to the House Ethics Committee that she witnessed Matt Gaetz having sex with a minor," Florida attorney Joel Leppard told ABC News.
Speaker Mike Johnson says he will 'strongly request' that Ethics Committee withhold its Matt Gaetz report
WASHINGTON — House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., said Friday that he would "strongly request" that the House Ethics Committee not release a report detailing its investigation into former Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla.
The Ethics panel had been investigating Gaetz — who resigned this week after President-elect Donald Trump chose him to serve as attorney general — off and on since 2021. He has denied any wrongdoing.
I saw some clips pre-election when (I think) Sky News went into various pro-Trump Muslim communities, who were backing him on the basis that “he’ll end the wars”.
It made me wince a bit, knowing that whilst he may eventually contribute towards bringing an end to certain wars, it’s unlikely to lead to an outcome those people would be happy with.
There’s no doubting the comprehensive nature of Trump’s victory but you can’t help but feel there’s going to need to be an awful lot of manipulation and delusion if he’s to avoid letting an awful lot of people down.
There was a good documentary last year on the BBC talking about the links between evangelical groups and Israeli groups. Trump was heavily involved in both. Both groups openly want a one state solution and use the bible to justify it.
Baffling that people thought he would anger his closest allies and want Israeli restraint
Less than 2% of a difference in the popular vote, so about twice as close as the Brexit referendum. Only appears comprehensive because of the bizarre electoral system. Trump didn't so much 'sweep to victory' as 'squeak to victory'. Let's hope that the half of the country he's already letting down gets another chance to rid themselves of him in four years.
:coffee:
While meeting Biden in the White House, Trump has promised the 'Smoothest Transition ever'.
Why does that guy continually go for hyperboles, no matter what he's discussing?
He knew that very short slogans would resonate with a helluva lot of people?
Think about Bozo's billions for the NHS on the side of a bus, getting brexit "done"...etc.
Delivery doesn't actually matter once the election or referendum is won....

All parties across the world use short and sharp messages, doesn't make you thick if you read it and understand it. The average reading age in Scotland for adults is that of a 9-11 year old so keeping things simple is unfortunately the way that works. Whether you are trying to get across a political point, inform people about something or sell something.
The Scottish Government own guidelines suggest writing for 9-11 year olds to make it easier for people to understand.
Short and simple messages work so you would be foolish not to use them.
I had to google this as it really surprised me.

The fact that the "deep state" is actually pretty robust?
I have no doubting his intentions and if he gets a bit of momentum, the results could be terrifying.
But there are an awful lot of people and institutions who will have to be overpowered and I don't think that will be as easy as anyone will think - even Trump.
It's certainly his intention.
I think it was maybe Anthony Scarramucci who I heard talking on the American offshoot podcast to "The Rest is Politics" to his co-host about how sluggish the "deep state" is. Part of the reason that Donald Trump wants to dismantle it in the first place is why he'll find it so difficult and probably not succeed - there are checks, balances and legalities that stop Donald Trump doing whatever he wants.
The terrifying article is exactly what he'd do if he had his own way - ok, he's won an election and is in office but there's a long way to go before America becomes an autocracy. Whilst I wouldn't entirely rule it out, I think it's more likely that he pisses off and plays golf or watches himself on tv most of the time.
I don't think legalities are going to slow him down now that the Supreme Court has effectively rendered him above the law. Let's see how robust the checks and balances of the US state are. They've done nothing to stop an insurrectionist winning a presidential election.
What significant did he do last time, built a few miles of walls and waffled a lot. He's tied to the stock market, I don't think wall street will let him do anything too significant
