Sallinger is playing for Hartberg at the moment, live on ‘One Football’.

Only saw a bit of it but made a decent save and couple of good passes out from the back. Not saw either goal

Been impressed with the overall standard and style of play in the game though. Both teams trying to pass it along the deck at pace

I’ve found it really difficult to find any videos of him playing.

Normally there’s highlight reels and videos of saves but there’s hardly any kicking about for him?

I saw that but they said it’s nearly done, according to reports so they’re just regurgitating that story from the Austrian website earlier in the day.

Is that his last game of the season tonight? If so, maybe hear something soon.

His Instagram has quite a bit of highlights on it, however he’s made it private again

Sounds like we are getting closer to signing Sallinger.

I’ve never seen him play so this is purely from looking at his stats but seems like quite an impressive signing. One of the top performing goalkeepers from a league that is stronger than ours.

Lifted the below from Twitter so hopefully accurate:
Clean sheets - 8 (3rd)
Save percentage - 72% (3rd)
Saves per 90 - 3.3 (2nd)
Goals prevented - 12.5 (1st)

How do you know what he was being paid? Genuinely curious, it amazes me how many posters seem to talk with authority on players wages.

He said earlier in the season he wants to stay at Empoli.

Whenever he’s interviewed he seems to stress how much he loves it out there. I’d suspect he’ll stay out there and wouldn’t be all that surprised to see him get a move to another Serie A side.

The Sun done an article when he moved from Bari, seemed to be publicly released accounts. Verona had the smallest budget in the league and he was 13th from top of the wage list.

If we are signing this goalie, for good money, there must be a fair chance he’s coming in as number one. I couldn’t see us spending a few hundred grand on someone to sit on the bench.

I've grown to like smith but I do think it's an area we can improve

Plus we need good competition

Would it be XPG saves? Or more than his expected saves? To many stats for me to get my head around 😐

Of course, same goes for anyone.

Agree on Smith. I’d not be terribly upset if he continues with the gloves but, if we think we can improve the position and do something, it would show a pretty ruthless streak and that we’re not prepared to stand still.

Think it’s likely to be the same as goals saved above average, which means he’s saved more goals than he was expected to. So he’s overperformed, in a sense.

Think Smith did something similar in the Scottish Premiership
