Lads, with so much elbow punches as your team got away with, without even being warned, you cannot complaint about referee.

11 hour drive from here. Are tickets on sale for away fans?
Frustrating not to get more on Thursday, they are a very mediocre side. More interested in gamesmanship than playing football.
Genuinely wouldn’t be surprised if Boyle has dents in his shins, have to admire Martin’s determination to keep going against these hatchet men.
Hope we get what we deserve from the tie, they will need to show their fans they are actually a football team on Thursday. So it may be a tougher game. Fancy we will beat them, as we have too much quality.
In front of a bigger crowd than they are used to.

Well, a fact is that Rujevica is planned as a training camp (still is) so stadium is actually expanded with northern stand after plans for building new stadium at K antrida has to be postponed because of lack of financing. Originally, Rujevica had only two stands and expansion was made in season after we won championship because UEFA regulations say that minimum capacity of a stadium which can be licensed for CL is 8.000.
Plan was that new K antrida stadium is planned for capacity of 14.000. Here it is:

Also, there is peak into atmosphere on K antrida when it is full (friendly against Maribor 2018):

And Rujevica, game against Cibalia for winning the championship 2017 (without northern stand):

If You are reffering to me, I would say that arrogance would be if I said that we was better and that game You play was ****.
On the contrary, I said that Your coach prepared good tactics and beat is with our own planned weapon and that we played to slow because of Your good defence.
If You think that I am here to praise Hibernian players, well my nickname is Rijeka fan. But it does not make me arrogant, don't You think?
Yup. A lot of Hibs fans on here who seem to think the tie is already won. I think we have a very good chance to go through but I also remember draws at home against Dnipro and Molde, followed by very different results away from home.
I would suggest if we can't beat them on our own patch, I'm less confident of doing so away from home in the heat.
This Croatian boy thinks his team are good when they are a very average european side full of divers and time wasters. They will be forced to actually play football (and not time waste) by their tiny 6,000 stadium and we'll beat them on the counter attack as we are better away from home. I can't wait for Thursday.
I enjoyed your report on the game. Good to see another point of view.
One of the guys on here wrote up Thursdays match report on the thread "How Does It Feel" if you want to read it. He always writes a good and reasonably balanced report.
The game itself played out pretty much how I expected with Hibs not taking their chances and Rijeka making their few chances count. Drmec was very quiet and spent a lot of time moaning to the referee. I get the impression that Drmec is one of those players that doesn't do a lot most of the time then suddenly bursts into life and scores. Hopefully he doesn't burst into life at any time next week! Muric was quiet when he came on. Will he start next week?
The atmosphere with the massively reduced crowd on Thursday was strange. It was unlike any Hibs European game I have ever attended. It felt like a friendly instead of what should have been a great occasion.
What about next week?
I think your team played well within themselves on Thursday with a draw on their minds and looking to play on the counter attack if opportunities arose.
Previous experiences tell me they will play much more positively and will look a much more dangerous team in next weeks game. Hopefully we can play well and match your team rather than sitting back. We will also have to take our chances and not give away cheap goals.
I thought we looked most dangerous in the 15 minute spell when we played with two strikers, with Doidge joining Nisbet up front but that quickly died when Nisbet was injured. Don't expect him to play tomorrow but return to play on Thursday.
Who do I think will win?
I honestly don't know. I would probably make your team 60/40 favourites but at 1-1 with 90 minutes to play it could go either way.
Agree it can go on either side.
We finally have all players available (no injuries, no covid) and we are not playing tommorrow so we will have time to rest and practice.
But do not expect same game, we will definitely try to take a ball and put a pressure on you.
I said 100 times that this is a new team, especially in attack lineup, it takes time to things come in place.
You are optimistic because of first leg, but all of you state that you played well. However, you did not win.
We played with some serious teams last few years in Europe, last year Napoli and Real Sociedad with best team available got lucky wins in Rijeka, they thought that it will be easy job. And AZ needed a win in last leg to get through, instead of that they lost.
So we are not so harmless at home, you have to keep that in mind.
Of course I expect that we will win. Not expecting easy win, you are hard opponent, but there are not easy games in european competition.
And all of you who think that our stadium is some village field and our supporters are audience like in Scotland, you are welcome to come and see it yourselves.
Also, since our supporters are reading your forum I am asked to pass the message.
Message is:
In last 10 years we played in Stuttgart, twice in Sevilla, Lyon, Milano, Athens, Wien, Rotterdam, Liege, Napoli, San Sebastian, Copenhagen etc so we are very impressed with your stadium in Edinburgh.
End of message.
Appreciate your input on here Rijeka fan it's been good reading a different perspective on the tie. I think honestly a lot of us feared the worst overall about this tie due to Rijekas European experience over us...but Thursday we more than matched Rijeka in every department. I fully expect a tougher match in Croatia however Hibs are very good away from home, our away record is much better than our home record under Jack Ross. Thursday will be interesting, I am surprised Rijeka have postponed their league match this weekend - as u mention a lot the team are full of new players, surely an additional league match would help your team to gel? I'd make Rijeka slight favourites ahead of Thurs maybe 60/40 but if Hibs play as well as we did last week but take our chances we have every chance of going through
I tell you my friend, if it were not for these current times a lot of Hibernians would be looking forward to visiting your club and would be thankful for your input.
And in the last 10 years, all of us would be delighted to have played ties at the above mentioned although we did have a good time in Copenhagen. It’s between 20 and 50 years nearly since we bothered one or two of the others. Hopefully we will add Rijeka to the list of good ones.
Hard words mate.
We learned from european experience that you have to respect every opponent. And also respect opposite supporters when you go on away game.
It is easy to type these words sitting at home.
I am showing you respect and I am thankful that you let im in on your forum.
So at least watch your choice of words.
They haven’t lost in 15 games..won’t be easy.
Hibs have to play better - be clinical in front goal.
Rijeka will play better and have the comfort of being home and used to playing in the temperature etc.
Anyway 1st goal will be massive. Remember no away goals rule.
This is actually a good question.
We will see on Thursday.
But it takes years to build a mentality of a team.
We are not same team as we were 10 years ago. You have to know how to win games when there is no opportunity for second chance.
If you understand what I want to say.
Let me explain on some examples.
2017 we won championship against Dinamo. This is the same effort as for you to do it against Celtic or Rangers.
Same year we also won the cup finals against Dinamo 3-1.
In 2019 Dinamo won the championship with 20 points ahead of us. But in cup finals we won 3-1 as heavy underdogs.
In 2020 we also win in the cup finals 1-0 against Lokomotiva as underdogs. In cup quarter finals we also beat Dinamo 1-0 after we lost in championship against them 0-4 and 0-3.
Last year we won in Copenhagen 1-0 in play off of EL as heavy underdogs.
So, do not underestimate us.
Another excellent reply and you have been knowledgeable, interesting and informative and a credit to your club.
HMK Rijeka is a club I will now follow with interest hopefully from a distance but if necessary in the next stage of the competition.
I was very impressed with Hibs in the first game however we do not play well under pressure and where we are expected to win.
We had 2 semi finals and a cup final last year against inferior teams and lost them all and our lack of a strong mentality still worries me greatly.
I'm sure that our manager does not under estimate you, our team will be very well prepared. In the last year our away from home record is very strong so I expect us to give you problems and I hope we will beat you.
Your record is very good and we do respect it but perhaps in Thursday's game the underdogs will do very well:wink:
I have enjoyed reading your contributions:aok:
Really enjoyed your contribution to this discussion ,👍
Not sure if it's been asked or if you would even know , but do you know what the average pay I'd for a first team player at your club. You have some very good technical players and was wondering if they are very well paid.
Sensible fans will not underestimate your team. Your team obviously has many excellent players however we probably feel we should be ahead after the first game and that we have missed an opportunity for a lead. With the tie being level most will think you are favourites however also that we still have a reasonable chance of going through. Gutted we wouldn't be able to attend your beautiful city in what would have been an excellent trip following our team. If you win hope you do well in the next round.
My take on the 2nd leg is that it'll be tough, but not impossible to go through. They obviously have some talented players and have recent experience in European competitions. The weather will be hard for us. An expected temp about 32°, reducing to about 27° for KO time not something we're used to. But, they showed on occasions on Thursday they aren't a great side, but a decent team who have flaws we can take advantage of. Good thing is that away goal don't matter, so we go there with a blank canvas.
Croatia National team have THE worst kit in world football.
Every part of the red and white chess board is just WRONG.
Official.
I post on here and like to think I know as many Hibs fans as the next guy as at no point would I think we think the tie is already won, what a radge comment. We are as likely to get a doing or not that’s football what I think people are saying as watching the first leg regardless of who you follow Hibs were the better side and should be going over there with a 1/2 goal lead. That didn’t happen so we go again, I for one don’t fear this team but am long enough in the tooth to also realise there could be a flirt with progression in this Europe thing and we come away feeling like a missed opportunity
It is okay.
The most stunning International kit, imo, is Italy. Always GORGEOUS [emoji8]

I’ve read some nonsense over the years but this is right up there. Well it’s not really, it’s just an opinion I disagree with but still, I really disagree.
Croatian strip is class, had one for Euro 96 and I’ve loved all of their strips since.
FWIW outside Scotland Croatians are probably my favourite national team to watch. Love watching them play and some of the technical players they’ve had over the years have been tremendous.
That team with Prosinecki, Boban, Suker etc were brilliant and right up to the modern day I think Modric is an absolute joy to watch.
All done with a small population makes them all the more incredible.
Still hope we pump Rijeka on Thursday obviously and think we stand a decent chance, although they’re clearly favourites.
I certainly didn't suggest all Hibs fans felt that way but a quick look back at some of the posts here and the match thread and there are comments like:
"Fancy we will beat them, as we have too much quality."
"Hibs to go through by a couple of goals."
"Hibs to go through by 2 clear goals"
"I'm fully expecting Hibs to win over in Croatia"
"I can't see them beating us, we are much better than them"
That's not having a pop, I'm not looking to single out posters for their optimism, they are of course entitled to that opinion and may be right in the end! I just think history is not on our side at this point. We certainly have a chance but even though we played really well, the memories from past games in Europe are hard for me to shake off at this stage.
I’d say that a win over there would be as good a European result that we have had for many years. They are a seasoned European side. With all that experience and the level of talent at their disposal it will be a very hard night over there. That said, if we can keep it tight at the back we’ve definitely got a goal or two in us…let’s hope we pull off a memorable victory.
