Did he apply for DOF role?
Maybe didn’t get it then thought he would try opportunities elsewhere.

The new DoF can probably take on this role.
1-0 win for the 18’s tonight v Aberdeen.
Gareth Evans, or another experienced coach for me. Daz still has lots of developing to do before taking on such a role
Reuben with the goal last night for the 18s who seems to have ended the season well?
I Still think next season we will see him more in the development squads and play 18s when he can.
Laidlaw also played last night.
Looks like that’s Laidlaw away, goodbye post up on twitter

I still think it's the wrong move for Laidlaw and signing the 2 year deal at Hibs would be a better career option.
Really suppose it depends on who he has signed for, a Livvy or a Dundee etc he may get a chance at first team football but if its to an English lower prem or Championship team then he will more or likely be back to square one with perhaps a few more pennies in his pocket
Time will tell but one I think Hibs have got wrong.
Hibs don't get it wrong very often with youth players these days.
Bojang wasn’t ready but still played more minutes than all the U19s combined. We have had Tavares on the bench all season, as well as Devlin, and to a slightly lesser extent Mckirdy despite them not being ready and having no intention of using some of them.
The U19s should have been on loan this season. We’ve done well to only lose Laidlaw after mismanaging the U19s this season. Are Laidlaw and O’Connor any more developed after playing all season at a level it looks like they long outgrew?
Disappointed with the confirmation on Laidlaw but its been on the cards for a while and as the above poster says the players should of been on loan this season.
Will keep my eye on Laidlaw though to see where his career goes.
At the last count, i think 7 of the under19/under 18 have signed pro contracts, most have been loaned out, already, 3 players held out for better offers, 2 have recently signed, and have already been assigned a club for next season Airdrie.
The development of some of our our players, was on hold because of the under 19s doing so well in Europe, but effectively this held back some players from going out on loan sooner.
Hibs have done nothing wrong, Laidlaw has refused to sign a contract, and made it clear for a long time, that he wasn’t signing.
I suspect this was the main reason, he was not included in the main squad, very often.
He certainly goes with my best wishes for the future, he is a very decent player.
In my opinion, its the wrong move.
But good luck Ethan.
Every other player in the team were happy to sign the contract, I'd put 3 or 4 of them ahead of him with a better chance of making it. Who knows it's a lottery, chances are 1 or 2 will if that. At Hibs you'll get the opportunity if your good enough, but you need patience and to prove it when on loan.
Kane O'connor, Connor Young, kurtis byrne...
Agree, hibs are also looking at who might come though next season, Rudi and jacob mcintyre for instance.
Personally i think hibs are in a good place with the youth teams at the moment, and hopefully a few make it to the first team squad.
If not they play at a decent level elsewhere.👍🏻
I've not said Hibs have done anything wrong apart from some of the players should have been playing lower league football on loan but that's true as I remember someone on here teams was interested in some of our players but we wanted to wait until the end of the Euro run which lasted longer than maybe they expected.
It's good that most of them have continued at Hibs and loans sorted out next for next season and like you said lack of game time could be a key factor, I'm sure he made one squad in the rout vs Aberdeen which was the perfect time to bring him on but Josh and Oscar got on and he never.
The lack of Development/reserve football this season hasn't helped either and I think some are just disappointed as he seemed a good prospect.
I wish him well and will keep my eye out to see how his career pans out.
So what are you suggesting we should have just went out and thrown the towel in on the first round.
We've been round this before, ideally Hibs would have liked to have probably put certain ones out on loan a lot earlier but they couldn't play in Euro games and be registered with another club.
