Am I the only one on here that hasnt watched Line Of Duty ? 🫣
You must watch. When it was first aired a week felt like an enternity waiting on the next episode. Beware once you start watching on catch up you're probs going to forget to eat, wash, go to the toilet etc :greengrin (slight exaggeration maybe, but that's how gripping it is)
It doesn’t give me that hunger for more though, nothing really has since Line Of Duty tbh.[/QUOTE
Happy Valley has filled that void for me. Brilliant writing and acting.
Without sin , 1 episode in really enjoying it
Not read this entire thread. So apologies if it’s been well covered ..but Slow Horses ..just finished series 2 …excellent British TV, even better than the very good series one .. recommended . It’s on Apple TV
I’ve binned it after the second episode. All a bit forced and a bit daft.
The cliched big bad oil company actions and the very annoying Canadian always undermining the chiefs decisions.
The ridiculous delay in deciding “No one should go outside” to then have the very next scene of two of the main protagonists wandering about outside.
Telling the Medic to “Keep an eye on him” (the injured dude) to then see the medic immediately wander off so said injured dude can do the same thing shortly after with no one noticing.
The support vessel charging in at top speed in zero visibility then just swerving the rig and deciding to just not bother saving the day after all.
The complete lack of people or any work being done. Seems there is about 12 folk on this rig with nothing to do but sit about the rec room or eat in the canteen.
I could go on and on but won’t ruin it for others if they want to waste their time watching it [emoji2957]
The Rig is quite possibly the worst thing I’ve ever seen which is disappointing as the trailer looked quality. Thought it was going to be about a haunted rig or a serial killer on the loose. Nope 😂
I finished it last night, probably give it a 4/10.
The ending pee'd me off something rotten; I didn't like the forced romance between Steve Arnott and the Canadian - who was not at all attractive and had the cleanest boiler suit I've ever seen; the bolshy Welsh character was annoying; the Scottish guy who got infected was bland compared to Baz who looked like he really felt it; the rig itself - would they ever stack unsecured oil barrels in middle of the North sea like that so that they could crash to the ground when it was windy/heavy sea?
As RyeSloan says, numerous plot holes.
Re the numbers, there were 60 odd folk on the rig - where are they all? Why didn't they just confine Coake to a locked room so he couldn't do anything?
It was a bit like Vigil, going for a confined space, isolation etc.
Summary: Contrived.
My Grandad was a Platform Safety Manager (second in command guy) and I'd love him to watch it just so he could rubbish every practical thing about it.
2 episodes into The Syndicate on Netflix and really enjoying it so far.
The rig if horrific. Got the last one to go and felt I had to carry on with it.
Aspects of mayflies seemed pointless and offered nothing. On that subject Simons Choice on the iPlayer is good watch and heartbreaking at the same time
Me and my wife have a bit of an understanding that if we hit the point of no return then we would try and do this
A Spy Among Friends.
Guy Pearce brilliant as Kim Philby .
Not a new one but I just watched Wolf Hall, it’s been one I’ve been meaning to watch for ages but just got round to it. Really enjoyed it, wish there had been more than 6 episodes.
Wow, new Vikings of Valhalla now on Netflix, 8 episodes so thats getting binged to death 😀
Line of Duty will just have to wait a wee bit longer 🫣
Will definitely give The Rig a miss based on comments on here
I’d probably say similar re Kaleidoscope on Netflix. It was just ok really. Several annoying characters and the timeline thing was a bit gimmicky.
First episode of Tulsa King was daft but funny all the same. :greengrin
I loved The Last of Us game. Absolutely loved it.
I hope the series does it justice. 🤞
Just finished 1917 on the iPlayer, well worth a watch.
I didn’t watch Happy Valley first time round but seeing the adverts for the 3rd series, I thought I’d give it a go and started back at series 1. Wow! It’s fantastic. Great storyline, acting superb, especially Sarah Lancaster and James Norton but many others. I’ve binged for two days and am ready to start on the present third series. It’s every bit as good as Line Of Duty, in my opinion.
Light in the Hall. Welsh series, obvious ending and terrible acting all round (especially the reporter). Avoid.
Happy Valley is very decent, not in the same league as Line of Duty though.
Think we’ll give happy valley a go.
Imagine - The Ecstasy of Wilko Johnson on BBC Four last night , great stuff
Anyone watched White Noise, the new Adam Driver film? I watched just over half before stopping it. Couldn’t make my mind up whether I was enjoying it if not. It’s got a weird/eccentric tone to it, but fundamentally there’s not really a story to it. Might try and finish it at some point.
Maid on Netflix, fantastic drama that subtly highlights mental domestic abuse without demonising the perpetrators as monsters.
Watched Alice in Borderland on Netflix recently and enjoyed it. If you can immerse yourself in the fantasy of it all then it’s good. Similar to Squid Game in some ways.
Started watching Atlantic Crossing on Drama last night, first episode was pretty decent
Watched An audience with Billy Connolly yet again this morning, work of a genius from start to finish. 👏
First episode of the Last of us was really good and a faithful adaptation, it's my favourite game of all time so had a lot to live up to
Started watching The Traitors USA. Alan Cummings competing with various no mark Americans for most annoying.
Format still very watchable though
The program's been mentioned on here a few times already but I'd never seen Ghosts until recently.
Now watched three series and it's really good.
Nah, since I've played both games umpteen times there is no fear of spoilers for me, watched it after I finished work today, has some differences and more back stories of characters to make it fit for tv, but very impressed so far with what they've done
Will likely watch it again before next week too
Great start to The Last Of Us.
Sticking true to the game.
Yep, really enjoyed the Last Of Us. Probably my favourite game(s) with the possible exception of Metal Gear Solid.
I think it will probably be one of the best game adaptations. Critics already love it and as you say they are, to their credit, sticking close the game. The side by side scene comparisons for a number of scenes are spot on

I'm just catching up with the final 2 seasons of Jack Irish starring Guy Pearce, continues to be watchable.
Africa's Claws and Jaws on Sky Nature. Absolutely stunning photography
Caught the first episode of 'The Last of Us' last night. It was pretty near perfect for me. I am itching for the next episode already!
8 episodes of Vikings of Valhalla done and dusted, bingetastic viewing
Outlander coming soon to a tv near you
Episode 2 of the Last of us is really good as well, refreshing to see a series based on a game stay so true to the source material
Started watching Black Summer on Netflix last night, zombie type thing I’m quite enjoying it think I got through 8 episodes before calling it a night
Snowpiercer season 1 was quite good
Finally got round to starting Suits. Really liking it so far.
Hunters II on Amazon doing a great job of carrying on the good work of the first series.
Not that’s it’s hard to like a programme about killing Nazis! [emoji1787]
Anatomy of a Scandal has started well. 3 in so far and enjoying it.
Friends of mine just won £2750 on pointless!! And I kinda got a mention 😁 as I taught one of them to spin wool.
I'm enjoying our flag means death on the iplayer. Maybe not for everybody as theres no big laugh out loud moments and it's more subtly amusing. Taika Waititi as Blackbeard is great, I love just about everything he's been involved in
