Its just volume on the TV
Apart from the Aberdeen outbreak the numbers are not too bad. No TVs or background music in pubs? That will just essentially finish many of them off.
No deaths for 20 odd days, no rises in hospital admissions or ICU cases for around a month and they take a measure that will be the end of many people's livelihoods. First time I can say I disagree with what Nicola Sturgeon is doing. It'd an overreaction.
Sturgeon "furious" with the Aberdeen players.
Sturgeon saying the Aberdeen players' breach won't necessarily delay the return of fans, provisionally booked in for 14th September.
Virus cases may be levelling off in England.

A friend of mine, in Edinburgh, has been working for the NHS England tracking team for about 6 weeks. She’s worked 48 hours every week and receives just under £10 per hour. She has not made one call and neither have any of the 100 odd others in her team. Incredible waste of our money.
I don't really have an issue with this as long as those people are trained and fully ready to pick up the workload if cases rise and more contacts need traced. Calling it an incredible waste of money is like calling a warehouse full of unused PPE a waste of money. Being prepared to deal with a pandemic costs money that might turn out not to have been needed - it's the very nature of it. Obviously it's a balancing act but we can't expect every contact tracer to have a full workload right now, otherwise there would be no contingency for an escalation.
Breakdown of cases by health board;
Grampian - 27
Greater Glasgow and Clyde - 5
Fife - 4
Lanarkshire - 2
Tayside - 2
Ayrshire and Arran - 1
Forth Valley - 1
Lothian - 1

Seems like a fair summary

Anyone got a link regarding no tvs in pubs now?
Sorry I think I may have given that impression with my earlier post, I was posting it as it was being broadcast so I have missed that detail.
However I think given the nature of today's briefing, a lot of pubs simply won't be risking showing sport (particularly live football) on TVs at all - even on mute. People shouting has been specifically mentioned as a problem today and also in the past and obviously if there's football fans watching games in pubs, shouting about incidents during the match is inevitable.
The section of NS speech today ...
https://www.gov.scot/publications/co...7-august-2020/Quote:
Premises should be collecting and keeping contact details.
Wherever possible, people should pre-book tables in advance. And there should be no queueing.
People should be seated, with table service.
Customers should not be standing together to watch football, dancing, or queuing at the bar.
There should be no queueing outside either. If it is unavoidable for any reason, those in queues should be physically distanced.
And there should be no background music – or volume from the TV. We don’t want people having to shout or lean in to each other in order to be heard.
