No need for him to isolate when he comes home, he’s just gone for an eyesight test apparently.

Germany have seen a rise in new infections. Holiday makers in high risk areas will be offered tests at airports when they arrive home, it's either that or isolation for 14 days.
The Scottish govt would certainly have looked wise had they kept their Spain quarantine policy in place, but to have lifted it at such a questionable time only to re-impose it two or three days later makes them look pretty daft. If the UK govt had done the same they'd be getting pelters from a fair few posters on here.
Some friends of mine got lucky. They flew back into Manchester on Saturday afternoon!
Couldn't agree more.
Their decision to lift their quarantine policy on Spain made absolutely no sense given the current situation, and has left them looking foolish/incompetent (delete as applicable).
I've little faith in either the UK or Scottish government currently.
I've mentioned before that I have friends who live in Murcia. They got the ferry from Bilbao to Portsmouth and drove up Perthshire on Thursday. They were astonished at how little precautions were in evidence when they arrived at Portsmouth.
It turns out that they live next door to the grandparents of Drey Wright.

With new cases running at over 700 in England in the last couple of days, I don't think they're getting on top of this virus for a while yet. I see the new cases in Scotland have increased slightly (below 30) but I have more confidence in our track and protect system in operation than I've seen in England.
National interventions in Leicester, Oadby and Wigston, Blackburn with Darwen, Luton, enhanced support in Pendle, and areas of concern in Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, Wakefield, Rotherham, Peterborough, and Northampton.
England need to up their game. Let's hope they get their new cases down to manageable levels, or we're in this for a while yet.
It's early days for our track and protect system. With low case numbers to work with, it's not been properly tested yet to demonstrate for me that it's fully effective.
A huge part of it's success is really dependant on public compliance, which still seems to be an issue in England.
The lack of tracing seems to be a problem too.

10 deaths in a day might not seem very many but it's actually been Australia's highest daily rise so far.
The state of Victoria's also had over 450 new cases today, a rise of more than 100 from yesterday's figure.
Having lower numbers to deal with has made it easier to bed the system in but there's more at play than that. Westminster went for a magic bullet approach with the App and also ditched the existing local systems for centralised systems run by private companies who are simply not up to the job.
Sturgeon described our system as relying on good old fashioned leg work. It might be slightly more labour intensive but it's using tried and trusted methods.
Anyone think a lockdown is coming again in the autumn
The Canaries and Balearics are not exempt from the UK government quarantine rules. The only difference is that the FCO doesn't advise against non-essential travel to the islands, but does to mainland Spain.
You're still required to quarantine for 2 weeks on your return to the UK regardless of where you are in Spain.
Fully opening up, I think they will be announcing a number of redundancies sadly, the airport is open but mostly for cargo flights and folk getting up North to work on rigs and slowly there are more flights coming in from around the world and departing, the airport need more staff back in that were furloughed as it gets busier.
Daily Scottish update;
4 new cases since yesterday - Lowest number for 12 days
Decrease of 3 in the confirmed cases in hospital
No change in the confirmed cases in intensive care
No deaths registered since yesterday - 10th day in a row with no deaths
The FM has said on a few of the daily briefings that track and trace works best when there's low numbers, if they rise it looses traction to the point it becomes a waste of time, she's already said that the lockdown easing will be halted, even reversed to allow t&t get back in control, she's said more than once thats why it's so important we all do our bit (masks, distancing) to ensure the pubs etc stay open. :-/

Great news. I wonder how significant the use of dexamethasone has been on the death rate?
Reading in The Observer today that the Recovery Trial is now focusing on 3 new candidates for treatments: an antibiotic, an antibody, and convalescent plasma. They are taking longer to achieve results due to the low rates of hospitalisation at the moment, but generally the UK is receiving worldwide plaudits for its research projects. It's the one area we seem to have got right.
I read a week or so ago that WHO recommend something like 1 tracker and tracker to 5,000 population. In the same piece Scotland had 1 for 2,700 and England was something like 7,000.
I'm sure Scotland (NS) would say we were well placed going forward and certainly not complacent.
