Never got along but that’s good to know.
Might be an idea to re name the thread?
2-0 Hibs. Laidlaw.
2-1.
Mon the young lads! Anyone got a link to the league table? How many games left?
Goal Hibs - Laidlaw with his second and Hibs’ third. Hibs U18s 3, Rangers U18s 1
They seem to have had some really impressive results this season.
Hugely encouraging.
Well done lads.
3-2
4-2 now.
4-2 Hibs Connor young
FT 4-2. Good win again.
Wonderful!! Well done the young guys, just outstanding!!
Went along on a cold but bearable night.
Hibs played some excellent football, in complete control apart from the first 15 minutes and a short spell in the second half.
Both Rangers goals were as a result of mistakes and it’s no exaggeration to say that Hibs could have won 7 or 8 to 2 on the night, many chances created.
The young huns got very rattled and started putting the boot in, no surprise there.
And a wee 4 page programme as well.
Wonder how Maloney manages recruitment with the crop in the U18s in mind. He has to focus on the here and now as all managers do, but there’s also got to be a plan so as not to block their pathway in the next season or two.
ADMINS!
How do I change the thread title, very good suggestion further up the thread.
I don’t have a link, but going by the league table in the programme tonight Hibs will have moved up to 2nd (unbeaten after 11 games, 8 wins and 3 draws).
They are now 8 points behind Rangers with a huge 7 games in hand.
Rangers looked very ordinary, but that is maybe because the young Hibs team made them look so.
Have seen Young, Laidlaw and O’Connor mentioned on these threads regularly as goalscorers, but recently I’ve been more interested in our midfielders at this age group?
Can a regular attendee describe the boys in the engine room, would really love to see a young midfielder come through
Did anyone get a team line?
Both Ethan Laidlaw and Connor Young play much deeper than strikers in my opinion. Josh O'Connor also works ridiculously hard for a striker. Strong, fit and clearly well coached as they all are. There's a lad Robbie Hamilton in mid who looks like he has all the attributes of energy, drive, strength and skill. Wee fellah Malik Zaid is the young Syrian who got the Hanlon Stevenson scholarship (?) and is crafty to the extent he can only be compared to Zemmama which of course is a stereotype. Wing backs bomb forward both the McIntyre brothers have signed deals and the lad Kanayo Megwa is solid. All round they are a good unit. They are still playing against other lads developing themselves of course and they won't all come through, but I hope they do and they are a great watch.
