I'm not sure I follow. Scotland as a whole, based on the current rate of infection, isn't a geographic hotspot. The localised spike in infections in the south west of the country has already been factored in to today's Scottish government update, with appropriate measures taken. Similar to the way Leicester's lockdown has been extended. This, surely, is the way forward until, ideally, a vaccine is successfully developed? Talk of setting up quarantine posts along the Scottish border just seemed absurd to me - although granted, as somebody else has pointed out, the whole issue seems to have been blown out of proportion by some heavily slanted media questioning.
