I actually find Amazon better for having proper trailers...Netflix seems to like to show you a random 30 seconds from the show / film that gives you little idea of what it’s about.
Although that said I think Netflix has improved a touch on that recently.
But in general I agree...finding genuine new content on Amazon is a pain sometimes. Especially their ‘new’ movies on Amazon feed...often stuff from the 90’s that they just happen to now have the rights for.
I just watched the first season of intelligence after it came up as a suggestion after I watched the Friends Reunion. It was quite funny. I already liked Nick Mohammed from watching Ted Lasso but didn’t realise he was a writer too. Looking forward to the second season now.
Finally got round to watching the first two episodes last night, I know I am going to enjoy this, Martin Freeman is great in it, seems like there will be more to his backstory, they definitely got the ****ging scenes in the first episode, can't wait to see how it develops
BBC4 re-running Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.
Classic writing.
Watched it last night. The plastic surgery that Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox and, to a lesser degree, David Schwimmer have had done is horrendous. Cox looks like a burns victim and it seems to have had some sort of impact on Aniston’s ability to speak normally.
It was quite telling how ‘normal’ Matt Le Blanc and Lisa Kudrow are compared to the rest of them.
I thought Matthew Perry was going cry when Lisa Kudrow emphatically replied “no” when asked if they’d do a movie. He’s obviously been banking on something like that financially.
Start up season 1 finished , Very good and looking forward to season 2
Izzy as an absolute babe :love ya!::love ya!:
I watched the 3rd season of the Kominsky Method over the weekend. It's still pretty funny but I got the impression that they couldn't be bothered finishing the season so just squashed 3 episodes into 1 at the end.
Mare of Eastwood episode 1 this is gonna be amazing :agree:
I’ve just finished it absolutely tremendous t.v.
I was close but, ultimately, wrong!
However that was the best single season drama I've ever watched. Great story, nice level of mystery/suspense combined with believable outcome, phenomenal acting. I felt the emotion in every episode.
I'm gutted it's over but they nailed it.
Finished season 4 of Snowfall, it's starting to drag on a bit now.
"Once Were Brothers", the Scorsese documentary about The Band.
Late to the party but I just watched the Real Kashmir documentary last night. Enjoyed it. Am I right in thinking there was a follow up? I couldn't see it on iplayer.
Anyone who was thinking of watching the Divine Ponytail on Netflix, about the great Robi Baggio....just don’t. Toe curlingly awful TV.
Anyone else watch the first episode of Time tonight on BBC 1?
Extraordinary TV.
All episodes are on bbc iplayer.
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (1979) is on iPlayer currently. Not everyone's cup of tea but definitely a classic.
It was good. Does make you think if the whole jail system is just wrong though. Obviously there are criminals who deserve many years and even full life terms, but it's the non violent criminals that I think should be in separate prisons. Also sad to think that even the prisoners who acknowledge their guilt and mistakes don't feel they have any hope and just get in deeper and deeper to a point they really won't ever recover.
I like Jimmy McGovern as a writer, the Accused and Hillsborough series he done were brilliant. I had a bit of a problem making out the dialogue with some of Stephen Graham's lines, had to rewind a few times. He's got a very broad scouse accent but I normally have no probs understanding what he's saying. Anyone else have that prob with this production, or am I going deef?
Love when they fire the whole series on the i-player, I like a binge watch sesh.
Just ersed season 2 of start up , What a ****ing brilliant programme this really is !!!!
Cannot believe series 3 is on Amazon which i don't get
2016 the first one came out , How did i not hear about this , Where was i living on the moon ???
Good luck - it was a couple of months ago I had it (but have had the trial more than once in the past) so hopefully you can get one just now as a first timer. Can also pay for it monthly with no need for long term subscription.. but the free one is obviously better 😎
A lot of decent stuff on there, but like you I don’t need it on top of sky etc when it’s to be paid for.
Just watched first season of start up over the last week. Agree it’s a great programme with 4 brilliant main characters. Izzy is stunning too, which helps.
Wasn't sure about series 1 of Breeders, really enjoying series 2 though.
Well I watched all three episodes of Time back to back. Oh my god, what roller coaster of emotions. It was tense, inspirational, heartbreaking and entertaining all at the same time. I’m a cryer in general but this was something else for me. Pretty sure I cried through about 40% of it for various reasons. I absolutely love dramas by Jimmy McGovern, but along with Ken Loach, I don’t know why I persist in watching their work because I really do get myself in a bit of a state. I Daniel Blake will remain one of my favourite films, but I have never been able to watch it at second time. It’s too upsetting
The pact was a decent wee binge :aok:
How good is Mr Browns Boys. Craig Burley is hilarious.
Are people getting confused with MRS Brown's Boys? Or am I being whooshed?
Not sure if anyone has mentioned Absentia yet, just found out that the main characters dad (pain in the hole by the way) was played by the guy that played the part of the French archaeologist in Raiders of the lost ark! 🤓
'Time' Was very good with Sean Bean and Stephen Graham :aok:
I've finished Mare of easttown and while I thought Kate Winslet was excellent, I found the whole thing predictable.
Netflix are capable of bad as well as good. I've just watched "awake" which is the sort of TV movie that makes wish you had stuff that needs doing elsewhere.
Anyone watched/watching BBC drama 'Hidden ' ? I'm 2 episodes in and finding it a bit meh
GB News ‘What Matters to You’ needs a mention. The phone in show received calls from Mike Hunt and Mike Oxlong. Michelle Dewberry failed to notice.
Anyone watch the first series of Guilt on the BBC with Mark Bonnar? It's on the iplayer. Can't see anywhere when the second series will be aired just loads of trailers with no date when it will be shown.
On season 3 of startup now, only two episodes to go, this has been brilliant and I am hoping they will make more of this
I admire your persistence….although quite how you managed that is beyond me! [emoji2957]
I’m currently on catch up with Startup. For some reason I had watched the first 3 episodes of the first season then stopped…picked it back up now, quality viewing for sure [emoji736]
The Handmaid's Tale continues to be fine viewing, probably not the cheeriest programme ever made though.
Enjoying Clarkson’s Farm on Amazon
Exactly what you would expect from him lots of childish humour but it’s certainly gives a serious insight into running a farm.
I finally watched Time over the last couple of nights.
Thought it was brilliant. I like shows that challenge the ingrained prejudice a lot of people have: prisoners or criminals are all bad people who do bad things. Truth is plenty people who have committed crimes are decent people who have made bad mistakes and are sorry. It didn't shy away from the devastation their actions have but it showed both sides and all that goes with it.
Agreed about Clarkson. I was worried it was gonna be the usual childish nonsense but it actually showed a lot of respect to the farming community with some usual Clarkson humour thrown in. Really enjoyed it.
Is Bosch any good?
