Who would want to come in now and take it over ?
Plus payoff to Lennon during a Covid season.
Any sane manager looking in will let the storm pass and fresh start in summer.
Plus while many think it’s a big job - many managers down south will be on much more ££.
The issue they have will be selling STs as Celtic fans seem to be raging and boycotting of a change isn’t made. Again covid may do the board a favour as no rush to get them on sale.
Whoever is coming in will want a clean slate and no association with the current season. The league is gone, they assume (probably correctly) that they won't fall lower than second and the cup won't be played so no point sacking him now really. Lawwell is going so it doesn't matter to him at this stage anyway - he won't be there when the fans come back into the stadium so they won't need to bother with the misspelled banners.
Who would have predicted several months ago Klopp possibly not in CL and Gerrard managing in it !
It’s a fair point - will look better on his CV with CL experience - though don’t forget he hasn’t won a knockout cup yet in Scotland and St Mirren knocked them out League Cup. An improved Celtic and slow start to next season / not making Champions league and he could be gone by Xmas.
Your not making sense to what I’m posting.
I know the didn’t spend in January which answers your point about not backing him in January.
I didn’t say they didn’t reinvest the Tierney money - I said that was one example - but the club generate much more money not just from transfer fees alone.
I will leave it there as if you talk to any Celtic fan they will tell you the same thing and that was they saw all of this coming ages ago.
Neil Lennon is a fantastic manager and you're all just a bunch of Kamberis for thinking otherwise. :grr: :grr: :grr:
They made a £0.1m profit last season - ie they reinvested almost every penny that came in the door. Previous seasons to that are irrelevant as they won the league every year so they obviously invested enough.
This season they are losing ****loads of money, therefore they haven’t just reinvested, they’re spending way more than they made.
He didn’t need backed in January, the league was done.
You referenced Tierney in regards to the amount they spent this year only being half of that. In the year they sold Tierney they reinvested all but £3m of his fee, and every penny of the money the club made.
He’s done well in the Europa League and got a chance to get a bit further. If he could get in to the Champions League, I think that European experience would be more attractive to potential employers than a domestic trophy up here.
Think he’s the type of guy who backs himself so he’ll fancy giving it a go. Hope he fails miserably, obviously.
The foul throw leading to Leicester’s second goal 😭 how did the officials not spot that 😂
Brighton absolutely battering Palace.
1-1, but Palace have been really poor. 67 mins played, the Palace goal was a lovely wee finish, but it’s been the only shot and only touch of the ball they’ve had in Brighton’s box the whole game.
Benteke volleys in the winner! 94th min.
Robbery.
Not forgetting Gerry McQueen, Willie Wallace and Yogi Hughes.
They were much better in the Allison/Veners years, I remember 17yo Kenny Sansom giving Des Bremner a roasting when Hibs played them at Selhurst Park, in Feb 1978, although Ally McLeod scored the games only goal on the stroke of half-time.
Lennon has chucked this season for Celtic however rangers aren’t getting enough credit IMO. They have 2 more points after 30 games than Celtic got last season (30 game season).
Idea of giving that disgusting stain on fair sport credit for anything makes me retch.
They've tracked down the coaching video for their 2016 Cup losing team
