:agree: I don't get that either. It must be inconsistent reporting from the health boards? Or somebody very bad with a calculator.

It’s not that the number seems to be persistently high compared to the new cases per se. Although I do find it a touch strange that ‘suspected’ is making up an ever greater percentage of hospitalisations.
It’s the churn rate...previously it had been stated that once in hospital with CV people were there for some time. That doesn’t seem to fit with numbers going up and down by 10% or more per day.
Total flyer as I have no idea but it seems almost as if they are classing new arrivals potentials by default then scoring them off the next day or so when the test is negative.
But as I said I have zip insight on that, I just find the large daily variation odd.
If it's being ended in England & Wales then I would imagine absolutely zero.
Which is probably missing a trick for unionists. What better way to show the devolved settlement is respected and the "broad shoulders" of the UK do actually amount to something in practice?
Yes, agreed. At last we have a drug (cheap, and readily available for use) which can help save the lives of those going into hospital with serious complications. It must raise hope that we can start allowing people to return to normality quicker than previously expected.
I disagree. Moving an elderly patient to hospital comes with risks as well as adding fear and confusion to the patient with nursing staff who dont know them.
Unless they need treatment only available in hospital they should be isolated in their room , although with some patients that's easier said than done and barrier nursed by staff that know them well.
Just learned at work that ministerial level discussions have taken place to cancel the October school holidays and make us work on a Saturday (I believe the Glasgow Times are running a story).
I’ve already had to cancel my holiday to the in-laws in Ireland for the last week of my school holidays as my authority said it is mandatory to work. Ironically I paid the fees to change the ferry to the October week. I’m beginning to feel the rage.
You have to remember that more people are presenting at hospital with business as usual symptoms. My wife works in an emergency dept at RIE which was non Covid and they had no patients at times. This has gradually changed and is slowly getting back to normal. If someone presents and has symptoms which coincide with coronavirus (a high temp for example) they will be tested and be an unconfirmed case in the stats. When all their results come back they’re found to have whatever made them present (appendicitis for example) but not to also have coronavirus.

Possibly good news for people on here, who have been unable to get financial help.

I wonder what kind of timescale will be given for entering phase 2 on Thursday. From discussions I have been having with clients through work there is a lot of guesswork going on as to what the requirements will be and very little guidance at all coming from government and/or trade bodies.
I have real reservations that it will be realistic for a lot of businesses to be ready to go by the speculated July 15th date. There are still shortages of a fair few items that are expected to be crucial to reopening and the pricing is mental. A whole load of requirements announced on Thursday and Friday is going to see a massive strain put on a supply chain that is already stretched. The financial climate has meant it's simply not realistic for businesses to speculate and commit to spending on items they may not need.
Got my test results back... NEGATIVE 👍🏻
