Drink driving Morelos has hit a motorcyclist and left them in a critical condition. One of the worst human-beings to have ever graced Scottish football.
Reading that the drink drive limit in Colombia is 2.5 times that of Scotland and he was 2 times over that limit. The boy must have been fair gone.
Tragic for the victim, victim’s loved ones and also for those around Morelos that have to pick up the pieces.
CCTV footage of it on Twitter (Zach Lowy). Morelos is all over the place, clipping a truck and possibly another motorbike before the head on collision but it actually seems like the guy on the motorbike was on the wrong side of road. Not that I'm excusing Morelos, he could well get a jail sentence which would be deserved.
Annual results posted, from the DR;
"Rangers have announced an operating loss of £17.2million in the past financial year.
The Ibrox club released the annual report and accompanying financial statement for the year ended 30 June 2023 which is in stark contrast to last year’s. Twelve months ago the club posted a slim operating profit of £252,000 but it’s a sorrier sight now with cash being haemorrhaged.
The figures do show record core revenue is up by £5m to £88.3m. But total operating expenses – or costs – remain high at £110m. Staff costs account for £61m, down by £3m on last year. The outlay of their short term Hampden tenancy was also listed with Rangers writing the Scottish Football Association a cheque for £67,000.
The Ibrox club counted the cost of Michael Beale's summer spending spree last season as well as paying off the Englishman who was replaced by Philippe Clement. The club missed out on the Champions League last season, losing to PSV Eindhoven in the qualifiers but reached the last-16 of the Europa League where they lost to Benfica.
The Light Blues lifted the League Cup but blew two more trophy chances as they surrendered their advantage over Celtic in the Scottish Premiership run-in and lost the Scottish Cup final to their fierce rivals.
Crucially, the club say they are "free of any litigation claims for first time in over a decade following settlements" and interim chairman John Gilligan said: “Undoubtedly, it has been a challenging period for the football club with significant change occurring both on and off the park throughout both season 2023/24 and over the summer months.
"As part of these changes John Bennett stepped away from his role as Chairman in order to focus on his health. John remains a supportive shareholder and investor in the club and I’d like to place on record my thanks for his leadership both as Chairman and a Director over the past nine years. We look forward to welcoming you back to Ibrox.
“In addition, we have had a number of changes in senior leadership positions with the CEO, James Bisgrove, departing to join Al-Qadsiah in the Saudi Premier League and Creag Robertson recently departing as our Director of Football Operations. We wish both James and Creag all the best in their future careers and thank them for their efforts with the football club.
“Whilst we continue our search for the outstanding candidate for the CEO position, we retain a strong executive team within the football club led by our Chief Financial Officer, James Taylor, Chief Commercial Officer, Karim Virani and our Director of Football Recruitment, Nils Koppen. All three were recruited in the period under review, and, as you can see from our underlying performance, there have been significant steps made in a short period of time in delivering against our strategic objectives.
“The challenges encountered with the redevelopment of the Copland Road stand have been well documented, and as a Board we once again apologise to our supporters for the inconvenience caused by the delays in returning to our home. The support received at Hampden was outstanding and epitomises the link that our great club has with our supporters. I’d also like to once again place on record my thanks to the SFA, SPFL and UEFA for their understanding and support through this period.
“With the Copland Road stand now complete, we are extremely proud of the work undertaken to upgrade and improve the facilities for our disabled supporters. They truly are now some of the best facilities in Europe and are evidence of the Board’s commitment to continue to modernise and improve Ibrox and the wider campus.”
£17 million quid!
One assumes a good chunk of the £17m arose from lost causes in court settlements
Some of the best facilities in Europe says John Gilligan whilst the BBC are claiming it stinks to high heaven - "Rangers' Ibrox Stadium has been rated the worst-smelling stadium in the Scottish Premiership after it topped the charts for the highest number of odour-related complaints from visitors on TripAdvisor, more than double Celtic Park in second place" .
To be fair, any stadium starting with tens of thousands of Sevco fans in it is bound to reek a bit.....
So what is their total current debt accumulated over the 12 years they've been in existence? Need CWG here to give some detail...
Apparently;
'The Rangers' losses by the season:
2012-13 - £14m
2013-14 - £8.1m
2014-15 - £7.5m
2015-16 - £3.3m
2016-17 - £6.7m
2017-18 - £14.3m
2018-19 - £11.3m
2019-20 - £15.9m
2020-21 - £23.5m
2021-22 - £0.9m
2022-23 - £4.14m
2023-24 - £17.17m'
So £126.81 million. Absolutely insane for a 12 year old club.

I see they have changed from the ‘most’ successful to ‘one of’ in anticipation of Celtic pulling ahead of them this season.[emoji23]

In June last year, Barcelona had combined 'liabilities' (i.e. debts) of €2.7bn.
Compared to that, The Rangers' debts are at diddy-club level.
Over on FollowFollow plenty of them are delighted at this great set of accounts. “Just need to sell one player like Butland for £17m and it’s all good”.
A £17.2m loss despite:
- record core revenue
- record total income
- record commercial revenue.
Horrific set of figures…pleasing!
It also highlights the different world Scottish football is in. I’m sure on one of the football programmes I watched on Saturday they mentioned Brighton had spent £200m on players last year. Its just mental TBH.
Getting to the stage when they won't be able to sack the manager as they would have to pay him off and take on another££££££££!!!!!

They are loosing over £1m per month. Wonder if the Easdale brothers will be back on the scene soon.

As funny as it is. We are not really in a that fit a state to laugh at another teams accounts.
We're also burning money.
Kensell said the next set will be better but who would believe a word that leaves his mouth.
Just put the accounts into chat gpt, here's the summary:
While the club has shown positive revenue growth and continues to attract financing, its substantial losses, high operating costs, and increased reliance on debt are concerning. The decline in profitability from player registrations and the growing negative balance in retained earnings further suggest a need for strategic realignment, possibly by controlling costs or revisiting the club’s player investment strategy. To ensure long-term financial stability, the club may need to adopt stricter cost controls, enhance operational efficiency, and reconsider its financing approach to avoid future liquidity issues.
Amazing how you can be that successful when the accounts say you've only been going since 2012. Top of page 29

Rangers 'express concern' after Hampden VAR officials are reinstated - BBC Sport
Rangers say they have "contacted the Scottish Football Association to express serious concerns and ask several questions" after the two Video Assistant Referees (VAR) at the League Cup final were reinstated for December fixtures.
Everyone hates us, we don't care but we really do.

"No one likes us,
...it's no fair!"
Hasn't taken their new CEO Patrick Stewart very long to get with the programme. As much of a space cadet as his namesake apparently.
It was a strange var decision. They only have to put up with one.
How many weird var decisions have gone against us?
This is all about putting pressure on refs for future fixtures so they give even more decisions than usual in their favour. When Rangers ramp up the heat like this, officials get abuse when they step outside their front door and their kids get it in school. The SFA should be fining them but will bottle it as usual.
Funnily enough, they never came out with a crayon etched statement when Aberdeen never got a penalty for the exact same situation at Ibrox last year.
Only difference was Beaton didn't even give a foul, he awarded a corner.

Following a pompously indignant statement from the Huns
Special sub section 1690:-
The Sevco VAR team shall have further discretion, where their team are involved, to apply an additional line (known as the Fat Blue Line) up to a further yard outside the 18 yard line to simplify their efforts to help Tavernier towards a record 100 penalties in a season.
Obviously this is in the interests of fans as a whole as it should speed up the VAR process.

Nice to see Boyd so quiet on Sky Sports coverage at the end of the match. You could see his disappointment dripping from his face … even although his own Sevco weren’t even playing. Sums up the regular bias of pundit coverage in Scotland … and as the final word was given to an ex-Hearts player on the panel on Sky, saying all credit to Hibs, Boyd jumped in on the very last second of his words and smiled, “doesn’t happen very often though”. That says it all about Scottish TV commentators and pundits in Scotland.
Happy day for us though, suck it up shameless 😊 Hibs players and manager kicked ass today.
So did you see and hear what I said above. If you defend such a clear bigot, then carry on, no need to share here. Boyd has shown his angry bias enough times I don’t need to repeat. Have you turned a blind eye to those times ? If so, why ?
Anyway .. time to celebrate, I’m sure you’ll agree. Hope you enjoy it mate, we are here 😊
I was at the Enfield Town game this afternoon and was chatting to one of my mates who is a Spurs season ticket holder.
To give you some context, my mate has enough points to get all away tickets for Spurs. He missed one game two seasons ago because it was his missus birthday. He's seen over 60 north London derbies; he's been kettled in Milan and had to look for himself in Marseille. He knows his way around Europe and a ground or two as you can imagine.
So I asked him about the Spurs game at Ibrox (he did tell me he was staying in Edinburgh the night before) Anyway, he said talking to Huns supporters around central weegie was great, all very amicable. He said it all turned toxic once they got off at Govan and the police walked them to Castle Greyskull. His son was hit and cut by a bottle on his leg. Piss and other usual stuff thrown at them. He did say police were excellent at keeping them safe, but as we know through there it's a far easier ride for a non Fenian side.
But, what he had never experienced was the bigoted singing he heard. It was non stop about, well, we all know.
My mate said why do they do this? What can you say? Just tell people they're living in the 17th century and what they're going on about will die out generation to generation? He really couldn't believe why they kept going on about Catholics and wtf that had to to with football. He obviously knows about the ugly sisters, but he never had any notion it was so hateful.
So there you have it, someone who goes to about 80-90 matches a season all over Europe, and the worst place out of all of them - Ibrox.
Someone might want to check up on them, beaten last night and now an article is out about how their beloved Queen detested the marches 😂
Queen Elizabeth II expressed her relief that Northern Ireland's "silly marching business" was quieter than expected when the then Irish ambassador to the UK visited in 2000, Irish government papers have revealed.
Ted Barrington, who met the late queen at a Buckingham Palace garden party on 25 July that year, said it was not the first time he heard "her dismissive views of the Orange marches".
Almost 25 years later, and after Elizabeth II's death, the report has now been cleared for release by the Department of Foreign Affairs and the National Archives of Ireland.
Mr Barrington said her comments "were similar to those she has made to me on previous occasions".
The ambassador's account is the only available description of what was said.
It was a private conversation and was not recorded.
There is a convention within the UK that one-on-one conversations with the monarch remain private, but that protocol was not followed by the Irish ambassador.
Reacting to what was said in the publication of the Irish state papers, a senior member of the Orange Order described it as a "throw away comment" with no context of the totality of the conversation.
Grand Secretary, the Rev Mervyn Gibson commented that "her late Majesty always acknowledged and thanked the institution for our proclamation of loyalty each year on 12th July".
"Let it be clear, four words from a 'private' conversation with no explanation, quoted by a foreign ambassador and open to interpretation will not diminish the affection the Orange Institution had for her late Majesty, nor will it affect the loyalty we have for the current King," he added.

Union Bears leave the ground on 55 minutes with members of the Rangers Shareholders Association. Some fans applaud whilst others boo. Outstanding seeing them fighting amongst themselves.
They are second in the league, doing well in Europe , just Beaton in extra time in a final.
and Have just beat Celtic 3-0.
What an absolute bunch of entitled losers.
Horrible people that don’t understand what being a proper supporter is like.
Hun on hun violence, all because they want more than they can currently afford.
I get they are used to overspending and not paying debts in an attempt to enforce their imaginary sectarian superiority over the other erse cheek, but its pleasing nevertheless.
Maybe it's those Scottish cup supporters or West of Scotland fc thugs that assaulted the exuberant Hibs fans who are responsible here?

Is there any better site than an ugly hun punching another ugly hun?:dunno:
By the way, can anyone point me in the direction of those articles/reports that mentioned 'Scottish cup supporters' or 'West of Scotland fans'...?
Cheers.
The in fighting amongst them is so so pleasing to see.
Horrible club with the most vile fans. May their misery continue.
They were on the BBC News sites back at the time but possibly no longer available. There were links on here at the time so probably best trying the search function here to see what it brings up. I can assure you it happened though. It was avoidance of the word Rangers in relation to any post-match on-pitch shenanigans at all costs and ended up farcical.
