Don't drink and drive. If your having a drink don't take the bus or the train either though....
Have I missed something? Or is that a reference to actually drinking whilst on the train/bus rather than having been drinking?
I vaguely recall (although it may have been a joke) something about Uber not wanting drunk people to use their service which somewhat went against their business model. :greengrin

I don't quite know how I ended up on an Edinburgh one on Facebook but there are people desperate for every cat to be lost. They'll post a picture of a perfectly healthy looking, well fed, well groomed cat with a 'Not sure if this one is lost or not. Been coming to my garden for a few days now, feel sorry for him so been leaving a few treats out'.
Aye that's why he is coming to your garden because he's a ****ing chancer. My cat is an outdoor cat and he's also a greedy *******. I have no doubt if someone in the area was giving him food he'd keep going back there until they stopped. Cats like to wander and explore, it's normal behaviour. Unless they are obviously distressed or injured then leave them alone.
Selfish folk. Took my daughter swimming this morning. The pool was much busier than usual with families. To the point of everyone having their own little section of the pool to play in. There was two different families throwing a ball about oblivious to everyone around them though. Particularly frustrating as my daughter has just managed to start swimming without a flotation vest and trying to go further each time. It wasn’t practical to swim like that today so we did other things. Some folk just act as normal though and like the pool is quiet.
Audience members shadow boxing at a live boxing event…..WTF
Fans that are depressed at a game cos their team is getting pumped and then see themselves on the big screen and start jumping about like they've won the lottery. 🤬
Insurance, no matter what it’s for home car holiday pets it’s a constant battle to get the best quote and having to jump around between different companies every renewal. Just give us the best quote you have straight off the bat.
The creep of tipping. Quick pint on way home, Hanover Tap. Young guy pours it. Card machine asking to approve or deny a tip. I'm all for rewarding a good service but a step to far for me.
Ticket inspectors checking tickets at the station where there are ticketed barriers AND an inspector on the train 🤷*♂️
F***ing ridiculous. At least you were given the choice to deny a tip. I was in a pub in the USA last year and had to pay by card on a screen. With no opt out choice, I was asked to tip $10, $15 or $20. My bill was only about $19 and I was truly pissed off.
It's different in America as the minimum wage for service workers is shockingly lower than other workers so if people don't tip they don't paid a full wage.
In the uk the minimum wage is universal so a tip is above that and should be discretionary and for good service in my opinion. I don't mind when I'm given the option on screen, it's when it's just added to the bill automatically and you have to ask for it to be removed that's a joke
Lothian Buses - the screens at bus stops. These new all colour screens apparently display the scheduled timetable. What's the point of that?? The printed schedules on bus stops have been showing that for decades. We have the technology to alert waiting passengers of the real time status of buses. I'm sure the old green and brown screens used to do that. The new screens say that the app displays real time info. Yesterday waiting for a bus, the scheduled time came and went and sure enough the screen updated to show the next scheduled bus - no comment as to why the previously scheduled one had failed to arrive. The app said (displaying real time, remember) said the next bus was 20 minutes away. So I started walking. Only for a bus to go past me three minutes later when I was halfway between bus stops. Why don't they use the technology that's available to them? Is it a union/workforce thing?
If you arrive at a stop before the time, wait. Bus landing on time is like finding hens teeth.
I get the bus in from Livingston for games and we are about to enter the twilight zone of the Festival/Fringe. The Cetic game will be bad. All their buses making leaving Waterloop Place hard. Add that to the piles of passengers getting on at Waverley/ all the buses queuing to pick up. Once at the stop you can be taking passengers on for 10 minutes. I've been on the bus and the driver refusing to take passengers opposite Boots and Exchange as its full because they are late.

False information in general annoys me. We went for a 90 minutes uphill hike in the Alps to an Alm Hut. We enjoyed a nice hot chocolate at the top and noticed there were 3 routes signposted back to where we started. The first one was the route we'd taken on the way up that estimated an hour back to the Winter Olympic Stadium, the second 1¼hours and the third 2 hours. We decided to take the second trail and after descending for about half an hour the next sign claimed it was 1½ hours from there. I'm no maths genius but after walking ½ an hour of a 1¼ journey then surely the rest must be less and not more.
In a restaurant, I don’t mind tipping a server, say, 10% for basic run of the mill service and maybe 15% for good attentive service, assuming and hoping that the tips are going to the servers. I object being told to tip up to 20% to someone taking two minutes to pour a couple of pints. That ‘tip’ or a chunk of it, will probably not even go to the servers. Restaurants and pubs should factor in staff wages into their prices.
At the moment those screens are pointless. If a bus is just one minute overdue it disappears from the screen. I've said to a few folk at the bus stop to ignore the screens and download the app as the screens at the bus stop are crap. The app on the other hand is really good and, imo, very reliable.
When you board a plane then the pilot announces that there’s a delay of over an hour and you just have to sit on the plane, when you could have spent that time relaxing with a pint or a coffee.
Companies that bang on about how good they are then totally **** up a basic order.

People who have no spacial awareness or consideration of others. Currently on holiday and the amount of people who just jump into the pool when there’s another person about a yard from where they land and then look at you as if you have 3 heads when you say something.
Pennywell shopping centre, what a state it is, half done and the half that is done is a mess already, how can there be so many weeds coming through the paving it was just laid last year, it’s like a jungle.
Paternity leave. 2 weeks isn’t enough.
My company gives 6 months paid paternity leave. An admirable policy byt written by people in an ivory tower office. An absolute nightmare to manage when you have folk off and you need to try to replace them with the same skills/experience/qualifications for that shirt period. I have basically run men down while folk were off
Correct.
I take the point above about the strain on employers but from a personal point of view I felt like I was barely there when both my kids were born.
My wife was still physically struggling after the strain of giving birth (thank **** I'm a man) and needed help for a lot longer than 2 weeks. I was working long days, coming home and trying to do my bit, not sleeping much and then repeating it all the next day. I was physically present but mentally I had checked out. We were both like zombies and it definitely took a toll on us both.
