What is that based on exactly?
I've possibly misunderstood the wording of the stat and if so then apologies but there appears to be around 7 countries in the world with a higher death rate than Sweden.

Brazil crisis deepening:
Reuters: Brazil death toll passes 30,000 with true infection rate estimated to be 15 times higher than official figures
The number of daily deaths is now well in excess of 1200 and the overall number of confirmed cases -- 555,383 -- makes Brazil the world's second most affected country after the United States. However, experts estimate the real number of infections could be up to 15 times higher than official figures, given relatively little testing across the vast country of 210 million.
The Independent broke it down into per capita figures but I can't find the article now. This Guardian piece explains it though:

I posted a screenshot further up from the FT site. Sweden now has the highest per capita new deaths per day. Here it is again:

Spain is no longer recording excess deaths, Italy was also nearly back to long term averages as of Apr 30.
Latest from UK is still about +25% in England, +10% in Scotland, +12% in Wales.
Actually, the Scottish figures are a week ahead, up to May 22. For comparison purposes at May 15 where the E&W figures are, S was +17%.
Maybe not the best idea to force MPs back to the commons...

Dispatches special on Channel 4 now. Should be interesting....
I don’t dig into things that closely. The reported tests were 171,000 and the positive cases (presumably from those tests) was 1,871.
I suppose if there is consistency in approach then you can then compare accurately to previous dates.
For example on the 6th May there were 6,111 new infections reported from 69,000 tests.
Chiquitos and Frankie & Bennys to close 100+ restaurants permanently. They employ over 20000 people UK wide. They also own the Wagamama brand.
I'd expect a few more hospitality groups to start announcing closures in the coming days if the whispers I'm hearing are accurate.
It has although they didnt make it clear

If the results are both tests being negative (otherwise why have two?) then while theres two tests in the kit, the test per person is really only 1
At the very least the govt figures are misleading. Like many of the other statistics used by them recently.
Interesting thread on the testing figures
