War of attrition from eubank here on in
All about heart now.
It's close but momentum seems with Benn.
Benn looking the stronger of the two at the moment - difficult to call this just now
Cant split them
Thought Benn looked the stronger but that was some last minute from Eubank on the inside.
If it goes the distance I hope there is no stupid scorecards. It's close and the cards should reflect that.
i'm mightily surprised by this Benn performance
11/10 Eubank
EVS Benn
4/1 Draw
Going into 12th
Whoever wins its been a great fight. :top marks
Eubanks definitely trying to nick rounds in the last minute or so but Benn landed the best shot late on in that one.
I have Benn by one going into the last but a few could have went either way. Very, very close.
Great scrap that. Eubank won final 4 rounds for me and carries the momentum into the scorecards.
Eubank by 1 for me.
Wow what a final round - i can see a draw here
What a scrap. Both a credit to their names and sport
How do you split them? Benn caught a 2nd wind around R9 and maybe that edges it?
Like two drunks outside the boozer. Great stuff.
by jings both these boxers have earned their purse for tonight
I've got it a draw.
I'd absolutely watch them do it all again.
That is WILD
116-112 all 3 judges
116-112???
get back in the kitchen ramsay
That’s way too wide
Scandelous
nah
It was close couple of rounds you could have scored either way, two Eubank max, can't see 116-112
After 10 rounds Benn was leading imo. Eubank won the last two and I thought that might just edge it...
Bull**** those scores being so wide (and all 3)
i won a massive £8 :)
Had Eubank winning the fight but that was a bit too wide
Get to **** with that.
Crowd reaction says it all. It was close and if it went a round or 2 either way you couldn't argue but that is way too wide.
Eubank admits he underestimated Benn
Benn should take the rematch and cash in again if he goes to welterweight and gets a title shot then Boots would murder him if it's him
It's a shame that yet again judges scores overshadow the actual fight - surprised at how good a fight it was, would definitely watch a rematch between them
Had Eubank by a good 3 rounds, a clear victory. It's a weak weight I think the financial bigger fight is probably sheeraz rather than benn
Eubank won that, if there was no hydration clause he would have won far more comfortably. Eubank can't have been more than 50% last night, he clearly struggled to make the weight and then the check weight would have been an absolute sickner for him.
Interestingly for those that had Benn winning or a draw compubox stats show Eubank landed something like 140 more punches, landed more power punches and a higher percentage of punches landed. I know boxing is scored round by round rather than overall but 140 more punches landed is a pretty significant amount. Even on a round by round basis, Eubank out landed Benn in every single round.
The Ring Magazine's AI judge actually scored it wider to Eubank, it had him winning 117-111.
I don't think we'll ever see the rematch. There's no chance Eubank is fighting at that weight again or with a rehydration clause and I don't think Benn (or more likely his team) would entertain that. He can move back down and have big fights.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Eubank retire. That was a very gruelling fight at his age with the weight restrictions and he's not short of money.
i like Dubois but i'm amazed that Usyk is taking this fight, surely it can't be right that Dubois gets to have a shot at undisputed so soon, where's joseph Parker. btw i think Dubois will win it

It's all gloriously predictable.
The only thing missing on Saturday past was smashing glass and JR on commentary screaming 'he's here, bah gawd Eubank senior is here'.
All good fun and sells tickets but it seems a lot of people on social media and the like still believe the pantomime build up is real and manage to get worked up by it.
Having had tickets for the the original fight, I wasn't sure if I could be arsed going to the rescheduled fight. I was kinda scunnered and fed up with circus TBH. I ended up succumbing to FOMO and got tickets. So glad I did. I've been to many big fights over the years (Lewis v Bruno, Benn v Eubank 2, Josh Taylor at MSG, pretty much every Scottish World Champion since the 90's, Naz........). Saturday was up there with the best.
Utterly ridiculous atmosphere, especially from the moment Eubank Sr appeared on the big screens. Competitive fights on the undercard, brilliant main event, outrageous stadium. Despite everything, I was still Team Benn and thought he'd done enough for a draw at least (I've since changed my mind having re-watched the fight) but both fighters emerged with their stock enhanced. I really hope there's no 2nd fight though. They should leave it at that. Normally I'd want them to do their own thing and possibly come together again in a couple of years, like their Dads but if there's to be a re-match it needs to be next up due to Jr's age. I'd rather they both chased down world titles in their own divisions now, in fact Eubank should probably go up to 168.
Benn v Taylor at Easter Road in a final eliminator for Barrios anyone? We can dream!
winner of usyk/dubios will face Joseph Parker next
I think Benn would probably beat Josh these days. He's never been a massive puncher, more volume and accuracy, and Benn showed an incredible chin against a much bigger man than JT. I just think Benn would be too ferocious and too busy, there's no way JT is stopping him.
I think Benn would likely stop him unfortunately, but there'd be good money in it and he might see it as a final fight for big money.
I could see Usyk retiring. Unbeaten and undisputed champion at two weights having beaten his closest rivals twice.
He'd be 39 in his next fight and I don't think he has anything else to prove and I certainly don't think his legacy will be tarnished having never beaten Parker.
Josh's biggest strength (or at least one of them) has always been his left to the body. Harder to land against shorter, stockier guys. Think that was one of the problems against Catterall. And combined with Josh's own age and size, it is another reason he probably should've stepped up to Welter earlier.
So I agree. Been wouldn't be an ideal opponent. I'm sure he wouldn't duck the chance. But for me, a more tactical couple of fights could see Josh fighting for world titles at Welter before his career is over.
Luke Campbell has been elected as mayor for hull. Unfortunately it's as a reform candidate.
