Just noticed Charlie Austin is playing for Brisbane, recently playing in championship with QPR, 33 but probably still got it at that level, good scoring record in England
Wee Russell on the bench beside Dwight Yorke for Macarthur
:not worth
Any chance of the CCM game kicking off, or should I just hit the sack 😑
CCM game postponed
For those watching the Sydney v Melbourne Victory game.
Keep an eye out for Jake Brimmer, Melbourne’s no 22
Apparently Victory had accepted Hibs offer for him at the start of the season, butbBrimmer pulled out as his father was/is very sick and he chose to remain in Oz.
Brisbane Roar 0 v 2 Melbourne City
Nabbout 22
MacLaren 38 pen
Jamie MAC scores on his 100th game

Re: Jake Brimmer - saw him play plenty for my local team, Perth Glory before he went to Melbourne. Danny Handling mark 2 for me, but apparently very good last season for victory.

Jason Cummings last gasp attempt to shine and get in Arnie’s World Cup squad coming up 7-30 pm Sydney time…think you get it in Scotland
Difficult match for his side as Western Sydney Wanderers are near the top of the ladder, but fingers crossed he can do the business.
Week after week we create numerous chances in the box but more often than not we are powderpuff and a lot of those chances are fluffed. I think Maclaren would have been on the end of a few, he is just a pest in the box but finds the net, he just has a knack of being in the right place at the right time, something we are lacking. Thats just one of our problems though
Melbourne City 4 v 0 Perth Glory FT
Maclaren 2
Tilio
Leckie
Aye Jamie would score wherever he played.
However in Oz things are a little easier for him as he plays with one of the cashed up City Group’s clubs, and consequently they have much more possession usually.
Also, while not denigrating Oz football, defences here tend to give attackers lots more room than say Scottish defences.
But down here if you backed him to be top scorer every year, I reckon your money would be safe.
Watch out for a young kid called Garang Kuol in the Mariners side.
He’s only played a handful of games, but is seen as a star of the future and may even go to Qatar due to his X Factor ability.
Usually comes on as an impact player in the second half.
Newcastle United secured his signature a couple of months ago and loaned him back to the Mariners for the rest of the season.
If You watch the Central Coast Mariners v Macarthur game on Sunday arvo my time
Look out for one, and possibly two Hibbies behind the goals.
This one will be wearing the 2016 cup winning strip ..in tribute to Jason Cummings who will play his last game before heading off to Qatar.
Jason recently acknowledged that prior to coming to the Mariners the last time he got a regular run of games was at Hibs.
Newcastle Jets 1 v 2 Melbourne City
Jamie Mac with his 8th goal in 6 games

CCM 2 v 3 Macarthur FC
Jase misses a pen after his side are reduced to 10 men
The ref blew for the penalty way to soon, JC had the ball in the net with the next hit of the ball, a couple of seconds to see how it panned out should have been allowed.
Surprisingly, the 19 year old winger for McArthur, Jed Drew, who scored the last minute winner serves behind the bar in my local. I knew he played football but I did not know he had progressed through to A-League level. He had a pretty good debut so I will be watching out for him from now.
Sydney FC have just beaten Celtic 2-1 in Sydney.
I’m no Sydney fan, but they matched Celtic in every department…..it was no fluke.
Be interesting to see what the excuses will be
A league must be decent standard esp with Aus being in WC
It’s as always a subjective personal opinion as to its…or indeed the SPFL’s ‘standard’.
Fans in both Australia and Scotland seem to be both over critical of the other’s league.
My personal view is that technically the A League is generally above that of the SPFL, but Scotland play the game at twice the pace, mark much closer and in most games would run over the top of their A League opponents based on sheer power.
Celtic for some reason played at a very slow pace, and right into a Sydney’s hands,
Celtic were below par, and Sydney were very, very good, and frequently exposed Celtic’s defence.
I don’t think Celtic will make the same mistake again.
Celtic lose in penalty shoot-out against Everton in the Sydney Super Cup game.
They had 7 shots on goal to 0 for Everton but could not get the ball in the net.
Celtic were good between the boxes but could not break down Everton’s defence.
Not surprising, as Other than the top 3 teams in the EPL, no team has conceded fewer goals so far this season.
One other thing that was exposed was Celtic’s defence…a lesson perhaps for Scottish clubs…when Everon did attack, the Celtic defence looked vulnerable.
19 out of the 26 man Oz World Cup squad have played, or do play in the A League.
Can’t be as bad as some make out.
